My 4 heated vests that were supposed to be Christmas gifts, now we’ll have to ship them to the family so they can get them, really thought they were lost till a tracking number with arrival date appeared on my iPad.

Zarnicky just ordering "Dark Holler" tobacco from Country Squire. This limited addition used to be calling "Mirkwood". Copyright laws making Squire to changing name. Zarnicky was too late to buying this last year but I lucky now. I hearing this even better than "Old Toby" (Now called "Tombigbee"). Zarnicky can't waiting to trying when weather getting warmer. Here is link. Zarnicky also ordering nice silicone ball for contact juggling not for smoking. Ball also in mail.

8oz. Of 1792 Flake, 8oz Balkan flake and a tin of Kendal flake from the SG drop.
I need to exercise more self control, especially at the slow rate that I smoke.

Zarnicky's mention of The Country Squire reminded me I haven't hit their site in quite some time, so I gave it a look. Now in the mail: - 4 oz. of Riverboat Queen (mandatory for Memphis residents) - this here Comoy's estate pipe (age unknown) I'm not sure which of the old Middle Earth blends Riverboat Queen is. Apparently, they aren't even allowed to say that.

Thanks! They didn't actually identify the shape. I guess it would be . . . an acorn?

Beautiful grain. The elephant's foot really isn't my shape, though. I like that first Rhodesian.

Indeed, that Rhodesian caught my eye also. I have two of his pipes, they are well engineered...he is an Arizona carver that lives about 3 hours away, we hope to have him at the pipe club soon.

In the last 3 months, I have spent 1,200.00 on pipes, I need to exercise some self control…. And I do have over 100 pipes.

It seems I'm on a little Comoy's estate pipe kick. Snagged this J185 off eBay: As you can see, the rim is going to need some cleanup when it gets here: Ignore the gray smudges at the top edge of the bowl in this shot. That was me roughly wiping out the seller's oversize logo.

Not in the mail, but I went and bought a new Savinelli 620 blasted dry system Oom Paul and a large J.C. Newman cigar ashtray at my B&M after work. I can’t say it enough how much I really love my B&M for the owner and the old fashioned, genuine care and customer service. Frank lets me walk behind the counters and peruse and take pipes off the racks and get into the cabinets. He dusted off my ashtray box, threw in a cork knocker for it, and he made sure to throw in some Savinelli balsa filters (which he can’t get right now due to supply issues with the balsa filters) just because he wanted to make sure I got to try them out. I stood around chatting with Frank for a while and browsing pipes, and after I checked out and paid, he ran over to the tobacco jars and said “Here, you like red Virginias, right?” and put about an ounce of some Sutliff red VA into a bag and handed that to me as well.
I couldn’t name a single other retailer in the entire city with such a caring customer service and attention to detail, AND attention to the specific customer likes and details. Even if they don’t have the latest releases all the time, I am going to make it my mission for quite a while to go spend all my money there.

I was thinking the 620 was an author, but I think that may be the 320. Have you not tried the balsa filters before?

It’s my second Savinelli 620, in fact. It’s the petite Oom Paul shape. My other is a 1970 Savinelli Classica blasted 620, which was my grandfather’s pipe. I have never tried the balsa filters, in fact, I have only ever used Medico/Grabow paper filters. It’s about to sail out on it’s maiden voyage and I’m excited to see how the balsa fairs.
I had been considering one of those new Peterson St. Patrick’s Day 312 in heritage stain to get my first p-lip. I went with this instead because I’ve wanted this version for quite a while and it’s a vulcanite p-lip and Savinelli makes a nicer quality pipe in every respect.

I would probably use them if they were still easy to get. With the supply issues, I've left off. They work pretty well for removing excess water vapor, imho.

That’s what Frank said there in the shop as well. I told him he didn’t need to include them if he’s having supply issues but he wanted me to have some of them to sample.
