Package from SP arrived today. I replenished my stock of Haunted Bookshop and Three Friars. Got a couple 100g cans each of Old Gowrie, Brown Clunee and Hal O the Wynd, 8 oz. can of Night Train and 3 tins of Kelly's Coin. This last one's new to me. I'll try some later on today. Also included in the package was 25 bundles of pipe cleaners.

Not in the mail, but In the process of moving my shop, (my old one came with the house it was in, fully stocked with tools, none newer than 1960) I found two tobacco tins at the back of a cabinet that was full of antique block planes that I didn’t know I had, even though I’ve owned them for about ten years. A fun discovery. The Bond Street tin even still had some crumbs in it.

I miss seeing things made with this level of care. It seems like there was a major trend of companies asking themselves, how can we cut costs? And it’s been downhill since. These two tins, early 1950’s I believe, are made nicer than actual products often are today, let alone their packaging!

I actually thought of you when I found them because I remember you occasionally have a Bond Street tin in the background of some of your photos you post.

You guys should start a thread for pics of your old tins. You've already seen most of mine. Could be fun to show off the collection in groups.

I got several tubs of old tobacco tins off offer up for chump change some years back. A kid met me at his garage door, told me grandpa was a collector, and they had all the sticker prices he paid for them at antique shops.
Based on how the kid was acting, I don’t think they were his to sell…
My wife has so many knick knacks, that I could not bear to keep them and carted them off to Ebay. Joe Camel cigarette tins ended up in bidding wars, and the Nig&$r hair ones brought a pretty good price along with some ones that were unusual.
I did keep an old Granger tin.

Had an order finally get to me, just yesterday, after erroneously traveling to Sacramento California and then getting diverted to Houston where I live. Craziness!! 😜
Yes, it was Sir Walter Raleigh Regular. Am I repeating myself too much with talking about this blend?

A Pipe smoking buddy of mine on another forum had a USPS shipment that really went whacko a few years back. It hit about 15-20 post offices across the country before it ever found it’s way to him. I would like to know how that is possible. On the bright side his tobacco got some age on it.

Domestic shipments went all over the world before arriving at their destination back in the States. Foreign shipments disappeared into limbo for several weeks (like my infamous Esterval's order).

Choji oil for my Wakizashi and another Hawaiian shirt. I need to clean and polish my sword. I'm afraid to look at it. It's a Windlass Ulfberht.

The new charger for my tablet was delivered today. It's a big improvement on the original that came with the machine when new with a thicker and longer cable. Now I can stop lugging the laptop to the workshop in the mornings.

Now I can stop lugging the laptop to the workshop in the mornings. If you don’t have one already, I highly recommend getting a Bluetooth Speaker for your tablet if you’re going to be streaming video. The sound quality is vastly better and fuller than the tinny micro speaker in a tablet. Much easier to listen to with my hearing aids. Then again… maybe you just Bluetooth your hearing aids to your tablet…

Impatiently awaiting prescription meds from Express Scripts. I took the last one today. It's OK. I won't die, just go crazy. 😂 In directly related news I'm also anticipating receipt of this pipe I won on ebay.

Ran out yesterday and won't be here until Sunday. It's my own fault, I put off ordering until a couple of days ago. I'll be fine until Sunday though.

I've used GoodRX and they get a refill prescription to my local pharmacy almost immediately. I'm using them today, in fact. Almost all online. Just a quick call to confirm name and DOB.
