Unfortunately, a box which was supposed to arrive in the mail today is still in the mail. :-( Usually USPS is fairly reliable around here. Unfortunately, they made a rare mistake today at the regional PO (Kalamazoo, MI) which is the last stop before my local PO. The box ended up going to a different town's PO. So, tomorrow. Luckily, I have enough pipes to smoke to hold me until the box arrives tomorrow.Yes, my traditional luck(?) of finding an irresistable pipe just before going to a pipe show continues. Thanks for the clarification, John. I figured with the bad news from the mail carrying PO-PO, you were looking for catlinite to fashion a pipe! You had me worried, bro.

Nice score, Rick!
Got a better package from Vermont than one of our colleagues in this thread.
Darn tough socks from Vermont, they are $25.00 a pair, bought two pair from Scheels sporting goods about 4 months ago and my feet have never been happier, and they come with a lifetime warranty, so I should never have to buy socks again. They are top quality in wicking away moisture, and extra padding on the soles...as the old saying goes: "if your feet are not happy, you are not happy".
Scheels paid for the first 2 Pair + a box of ammo with a complimentary $75 gift card by opening a Visa account that will never be used again. (25% interest)
These 8 pair I got, expensed to the company I work for.

An estate pipe from Smokingpipes.com and some blending stuff from Tobaccopipes.com. I've been chasing this exact Brebbia for awhile and I guess I manifested it, as the youngsters say. Congrats on the find! Always nice to finally land something you've been looking for for a while.

Still no pipe delivery. More frustratingly is no tracking updates since arriving at the wrong PO on Thursday.

Still no pipe delivery. More frustratingly is no tracking updates since arriving at the wrong PO on Thursday. Yeah. Good luck with that. Since COVID, I've found that when the PO screws something up in routing or delivery, they suddenly stop communicating about it -- i.e., updating tracking info.

Still no pipe delivery. More frustratingly is no tracking updates since arriving at the wrong PO on Thursday. I feel your pain. Last year I was really looking forward to a package coming from Colorado. Three days after shipping, it showed up in Michigan, but at Grand Rapids. Wrong side of the state, my usual main hub is Pontiac. It sat in GR for two days and then said “your package is on its way to the destination”, for the next five days. Then it showed it arriving to a post office, in Massachusetts. Then almost a week later, it arrived back in Grand Rapids and made it to me three days later. I wasn’t even excited anymore when I finally got the package.

That goes against every sock fiber of my being, but that is their recommendation... I went down a rabbit hole a few months ago to understand why the socks are $25 a pair. darntough.com/pages/merino-wooldarntough.com/blogs/the-alternate-stitch/how-to-wash-merino-wool-socks

Yup. I've been wearing nothing but wool socks for, I dunno, 25 years? They really can't be beaten. I've work Darn Tough, Farm to Feet, and a few other brands, but SmartWool is my favorite. They just seem to wick better than the other brands. No idea why. That Darn Tough warranty is hard to beat, though.

I also read some of the reviews after I ordered and they weren't so good. They are all saying that the sizes are small and they have reduced the percentage of wool. We'll see.

After taking a scenic route around SW Michigan, my "new to me" James Upshall grade B Dublin arrived in the mail today. 😎 I seem to have established a tradition(?) of finding a pipe a couple weeks before going to a pipe show. 🤷♂️ For close up pics of the bowl, see imgur.com/a/Cd9i2Ca

I just ordered a Chacom: Brown Smooth Reverse Calabash pipe and some Sutliff’s Eastfarthing tobacco. Just what I needed - another pipe. Somebody please stop me!

Got my cell phone back from the Hotel in Vegas… you do not realize how lost you are in this digital age without it, other than my wife’s phone number I do not have any other numbers memorized.. And I use my phone for so much… hotel reservations, road conditions, listening to podcasts and music on long drives. I had my work phone, but it is locked down really hard because-of being employed in healthcare and HIPPA laws.

Vauen pipes are my favourite. I've never had one. I've been looking for the right situation. Good dimensions for my use too.

My only Vauen is a Pipe Club of London pipe of the year and it smokes wonderfully, I cannot help but think that their pipes are “sleepers” in the pipe world.
JD @ The Country Squire is a big fan of their pipes.
“ A sleeper car is best defined as “an ordinary-looking production car fitted with a race-derived engine”. It’s a car that looks slow until you race it.”
I don’t mean to suggest that the Vauens are ordinary looking, meant more in performance..
