Dodgers took 2 of 3 from the Rockies this weekend. They didn't look particularly good doing it, but they got it done. An offense that shouldn't struggle has been struggling lately. Pitching has been great, though, both starters and bullpen.

Unfortunately my team the angels keeps getting their butts kicked. Oh well not our season. I guess I feel bad for Angels fans. As long as Arte owns the team, I think you guys are gonna have a hard time. The Rockies have the same problem. The Dodgers had it back when McCourt owned them.

Just watched the Dodgers whomp the Rangers 15-2. When this offense clicks, it clicks.

If it lived up to this past weekend's series, it'd be a doozy. (And the Dodgers would win!)

Well, my Dodgers beat the Royals 3-0, but Mookie Betts got drilled on the hand by a 98mph fastball. He was in about as much pain as you'll see a professional athlete show, and had to leave the game. If he's out 8 weeks with a broken hand, that's not gonna be great.

Plus they announced today that Yamamoto has a rotator cuff strain, so he's gonna be down for at least a few weeks, too. We've got Bobby Miller coming back from rehab this week, so that doesn't hit quite as hard as Betts' injury, but it still ain't great.

With no televised baseball on Comcast with the whole Bally Sports debacle, there is essentially no baseball.

With no televised baseball on Comcast with the whole Bally Sports debacle, there is essentially no baseball. Ohhh, right. I'd forgotten all about that. A debacle, indeed. I saw something the other day that said MLB is looking into nationalizing all broadcasts, but it's a few years off, even if it happens.

RIP Willie Mays May 6th 1931 to June 18,2024. I don't have the words.

In his own words
"What can I say? This country is made up of a great many things. You can grow up to be what you want. I chose baseball, and I loved every minute of it. I give you one word—love. It means dedication. You have to sacrifice many things to play baseball. I sacrificed a bad marriage and I sacrificed a good marriage. But I'm here today because baseball is my number one love."

Sad news, yeah. (Although, to be honest, I thought he had died during the COVID-shortened 2020 season.) Vin Scully always said he was the best baseball player he ever saw.
In happier news, the Dodgers scored 7 runs in the 9th inning to come back from a 9-4 deficit and beat the Rockies, 11-9. Hit a grand slam and a 3-run homer in the 9th.

There will never be another player like Willie Mays. Sad to see him go. In other news, Aaron Judge was hit on his hand by a pitch and was taken out of the Yankees vs Orioles game last night.

The Dodgers just secured a PS spot, too. Shohei Ohtani had himself quite a day. He went 6-for-6, stole 2 bases and hit 3 HRs, making him not only the first 50-50 man in MLB history, but the first 51-51 man. He's quite something.
