I decided it was time to cut into a block of my own Red Virginia/Perique/Dark Air Cured/Krumovgrad/Burley Red Tips blend that I’ve been giving some time in a jar. Only about three months, but that’s been plenty to have the flavors meld wonderfully. I’m smoking it in an Ehrlich meerschaum.

Good Morning! It's already 71° and very humid with a cloudy sky here at first light. This afternoon the high temperature will be 90°, so I'll do more laundry and stay inside the house. Starting off the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Amorelli smooth bent Three Star and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Stay cool and have a good one everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's now 73°, very humid, and still cloudy here in the neighborhood. Currently smoking a bowl of Wessex Brown VA Flake in the MM Mark Twain cob. Time to sip some more coffee and check the headline news.

Good morning, I’m smoking Sun Bear in a Peterson Dublin. Almost through this tin. I enjoy the blend but a little goes a long way. Probably the strength of the toppings.
It’s sunny and not so hot yet by the pool. The local news seems to want to make the recent hot weather stretch into a climate apocalypse. Although it’s warm, I don’t think it’s much out of the ordinary for mid June around these parts. It’s supposed to build up by the end of the week, so on Friday I may be singing a different tune.
I hope you have a good one!

I hope you have a good one! You notice that coordinated effort to dramatize normal weather lately? My area has an excessive heat warning all week long and it hasn’t gotten above 92 degrees. Yet it was hitting 98 degrees before June 15th the past couple decades. Suddenly it’s excessive heat?

The warnings in Texas are start a lot higher than Ohio for instance. If NYC got Texas like 108 degrees and 90% humidity they would have to dump bodies in the ocean. Still, I agree that they do get ahead of themselves with the warnings.

Got my hair cut. Now, more Haunted Bookshop in the Wednesday cob on the front porch. 88 and humid with occasional sun and a slight breeze. Yeah, it's hot. Gonna make a batch of pesto this afternoon.
