Back from some of the first of the month rat killing. While out I had a couple bowls of C&D Crooner. The first was in the orange Nording Sailor and the second was in a Ropp Vintage Briar sandblast 29c, a long shanked straight billiard.
"This type of elegant French style is somewhat a rarity nowadays. Luckily, we've got a few of these vintage "29C" long-shanked straight Billiards left from the batch Sykes uncovered in a separate building of the old Chapuis-Comoy factory. If you're looking for a sophisticated briar with a history, this may be your pipe."

A quarter of the way through this bowl of D&R A.B. Rimboche in a smooth straight pre-transition Barling 313 T.V.F. EXEXEL pot with a black ebonite stem. Great tobacco, but burns a little fast, though never hot.

I have a load of my latakia mix down the muzzle of a Peterson Donegal Rocky XL339 ,fishtail. A large bent billiard.
It smokes and hangs well. If it didn't, I'd not smoke it.

Olsen's MOB Old Belt in a Calich Lovat. This blend originally flew under the W.O.Larsen flag; just a really solid, pure Virginia.

Almost a quarter of the way through this bowl of MacBaren Navy Flake in a 1981 Ascorti Black Billiard Business with a military bit and pearl gray acrylic stem. Not sure how old this tobacco is, but it has the taste of age. Starting to run low on it now. Ice water and bergs is my drink the rest of this day.

Relaxing after a wonderful tacos dinner with a bowl of vintage 1962 Uhle’s Blend #303 in a 2003 medium bent Ural meer with a lined and etched egg shaped bowl with a silver band and a pearl brown acrylic stem. Watching the Reds-Cubs game. Molly is busy batting around cat nip toys, and Suzy is busy watching Molly.
