Just started nasal snuff, liked everything I've tried so far. Fubar Fugazi black Joe has taken a few to appreciate. I nailed the ammonia, thought, this smells like Windex

Anyone else get stomach problems from snuff? I was doubtful at first, thinking it must be diet or something, but now I'm thinking there's a link. I'm going to lay off for a good few months then test it again.

Be sure not to "snort" the snuff so that it goes into your sinuses and down the back of the throat.
A light sniff that coats the nose cavity followed shortly by a blow will help prevent this.
Also ... what types of snuff are you using and which method of taking it?

Holy Hanna blow that piana. Those prices for a single tin of Dip is crazy. I can get a 5 tin roll for that price. And that 30 gram tin of Top snuff for 10 buck is crazy, compared that other stuff.

You have to keep in mind that this is like buying the unobtanium blends like Strang, Condor, etc... not available in the USA, so you either pay the freight or just move on. If it doesn't meet your comfort price point, you might not see the value.

Yeah ... it's certainly not to be used for items that can be bought stateside. However, you can't buy the snuff here so it's the only choice ... unless you know a guy that knows a guy.

Yes, I second that - you wouldn't want to buy American snuff from an English store when you can buy it here in the US. They'll tax you coming and going and back again.

I just made a big order from Mr. Snuff of some Samuel Gawith Kendal Menthol and SG Black Menthol. It was 50% off. The shipping was out of sight!

Spending time with some Old Mill Snuffs today ... Sarsaparilla, Arabesque and Perfecto. Chef Daniel, R.I.P., really made some unique snuffs and they are all STRONGLY scented. Usually, a snuff's scent will fade rather quickly leaving behind the tobacco scent. Not with OM Snuff ... it's like a Yankee Candle for your nose!

Yeah, I wish I had come to the world of snuff before Old mill went away, I have only heard good things about them.

To be honest, Charlie, it's not one that I reach for every day. Sort of like a Chocolate Malt instead of 2% Chocolate milk. LOL The OM snuffs that I do have will last awhile and you're more than welcome to some sampling.

I'm still working on this little tin of high toast I bought last year. I like it, but it stays in my desk at work. Got caught trying to make some at home after that big thread on coffee grinders and pipe tobacco... Didn't go so good, lol.

Today's topic ... PINCH IT OFF!!
So, when you guys grab a pinch, how long do you hold it prior to snuffing?
I've found that 30 seconds or so between the finger and thumb really warms it up, moistens it and helps the scent.
How about you?

So, when you edit that one little line out, this becomes hilarious.

Anyone else get stomach problems from snuff? I was doubtful at first, thinking it must be diet or something, but now I'm thinking there's a link. I'm going to lay off for a good few months then test it again. No, but I got a terrible skin allergy from taking snuff from the back of my thumb repeatedly. Didn't know what it was for a long time; went to several doctors for it before realizing that I was allergic to it on my skin. After a 4 month struggle, the skin on my hands is back to normal. Still take it but not from my hand.

Pretty amazing that it would affect the back of your hand but not the tender inside of your nose.
What type of snuff were you using, out of curiosity?

Still take it but not from my hand. I took a long break, tried again and was really careful to avoid back drip and swallowing, and only pinched once a day. After about 3 days the stomach issues came back. I'm thinking my stomach just really does not like any nic juice in there at all. Which is a shame because I was really enjoying it. Oh well, still have my pipes and cigars!

I have tried that the last couple of days. It is kind of like reheating food as opposed to eating it cold, a little bit of warmth triggers the aroma, and it does help with the scent.
