Yowsers! Pretty sure you're set for life! Hey, one thing I really like and you might want to try is mixing the Toque Original (menthol) 50/50 with a non-menthol, say the Chocolate or Ambrosia. That way, I get the bite of the Original, with the flavor of the non. Can't say you will like it of course... Now you need one of them little coin boxes for the Rustica

There's nothing set in stone but I use both nostrils every time. Occasionally, I'll put one scent in the left and another in the right. Variety it seems, is also the spice of nostrils. Never thought about trying that....use as much bohica in one nostril as you do Thor's hammer in the other d Darin...I triple dog dare you. I've been reading the thread here and have decided to try snuff for the first time. After reading that we couldn't order online because of living in Arizona, someone mentioned that they sold it at DJ's smoke shop so I went there this morning. They had three different flavors of Silver Dollar so I grabbed one of each. The lady running the counter said they wouldn't be carrying snuff any longer due to the problems with getting it into Arizona!! Figures! Trailboss..Are there any other stores around that carry snuff or any advice on other ways of getting it here in Az???

No, I searched and couldnโt find any even though I had some coupons for free Snuff from Copenhagen.
If you can make it to the pipe club meeting, I will bring some and I can give you some advice.
As said earlier, subscribe to Mr. Snuff email and watch your inbox for a free shipping offer, that really is a great deal.

I have a question or three about snuffing .... Whatโs snuff like? Does it numb the nostrils? Do you get a nic buzz similar to dipping?

I'm a fan of WoS snuff but I find it's 20 minutes of pleasure followed by 4 hours of a drooling nose. Maybe it's my boxing nose-job.

I have a question or three about snuffing .... Whatโs snuff like? Does it numb the nostrils? Do you get a nic buzz similar to dipping? It doesn't numb the nostrils so much as it burns, pleasantly. Most people start off doing way too much and snorting it instead of gently pulling it in. You don't want it up in your sinuses - your head will explode. I use the pinch method and breathe it in like air - lining my nostrils but not packing it in. Yes there is a nic hit- sometimes it's quite a wallup.

What would you recommend I start with (brand). I'm a rookie compared to many of the other posters in this thread but I like Wilson's of Sharrow. Lots of folks start with fruity and mentholated snuffs and go harder from there.

I have been using the Silver Dollar snuff I found yesterday a dozen times so far. I don't know what I was expecting but it doesn't seem like it does anything. I get more from inhaling my pipe now and then. I don't know...

I think I would be interested in something thatโs non-mentholated and non-flavored. Do they make any straight tobacco snuff? Or should I start with something simple?

Sure they do. I'd look for the Natural type blends on mrsnuff.com or toquesnuff.com Mr. Snuff has more than just Toque snuffs obviously, arranged by country. You can get some cool accessories there also, though all you need is pinching fingers or a Czech tool spoon and the web between your thumb and forefinger. Darin would have some recommendations. I would say, don't shy away from flavored snuff expecting it to be like goopy aromatic pipe tobacco - it's not.

Oh they make something for everyone (see Wilson Plain) and there are lots of other great producers. Check out the selection at Mr.Snuff. Its staggering.

Most people don't snuff for a "buzz" ... although certain blends can provide that. Toque Quit is designed to help smokers quit smoking. Rustica is very strong.
However, it's usually just a light lift in your day accompanied by the pleasant scent of your choice.
Viking Dark and Thor's Hammer, Taxi Red and Kendal Plain are great natural blends.

Personally, I wouldn't start with Toque. They have a huge following and many love them, but they're super, super fine and hard not to inhale too deeply. I also get very little flavor from them. I think Wilson's is a better first-time option, or better yet for a pipe smoker Samuel Gawith.

Really enjoying the Rootbeer snuff... I've been a rootbeer fanatic for years and years, and this really hits the spot. Wondering if the rootbeer flavor is available for purchase anywhere.
Side note: Love the rootbeer snuff so much I take it to work with me... my neighbor classroom teachers are curious as to why I've been sneezing so much lately. ๐๐๐

Here's some cool Wilson's of Sharrow history. They first started making snuff in 1740, after Thomas Wilson initially rented the water wheel and buildings for plate-making. They got a major upgrade in 1897, when they got steam power! Originally, Sharrow snuffs were sent out in barrels, boxes and pigsโ bladders. While their capacity has increased with the newfangled eelec-tricity, the original water wheel still works. Here's a picture of the Mill, the snuff grinder and some snuff barrels. (PS This is why it amuses us Brits to come over here and find 'antique' stores, selling some things that are 200!! years old. Sharrow Mills is not an old building. The house I grew up in was built in the 1500s, and not considered an 'old' house, but a house.)

Well it's been a few days since receiving my Darin care package and have been enjoying all of them. As of this moment the Desert Campfire and the Ambrosia have been at the top of the lineup. Many thanks for your generosity!!! Received my Mr.Snuff order of Thor's Hammer, F&T Santa Domingo, and SG Black Rapee. Also waiting on an order from Rosinski. Feels like I'm falling down the rabbit hole. Lol

Not sure why Darin changed his profile pic to a gob of snuff-snot from a failed blend though...or maybe that's his 'special' mix that allows you to hear colors.

I made all the blends I sent you except for Ambrosia, which is Toque.
