Nathan's all beef hot dogs on white buns with mustard and Hormel chili. I didn't feel like cooking anything else after spending all morning chopped herbs and vegetables for tabouli. ...two of my favorite dishes... on my way over, lol...

Tuna salad was the lunch time treat...made it primarily cause puppy loves tuna. So, of course, she had her share of the tuna before it was made into tuna salad...dogs should not have any onion and that was in the salad. Dinner was a Marie C's Beef pot pie...somebody forgot the veggies...was all meat and sauce and a really great crust, but the "machine" forgot to put the veggies in. Coffee is now the main treat tonight...I can drink it by the gallon. Your love for your dog is inspiring. My dog and I are in a constant battle of wits that I'm always in danger of losing. My little girl is always wrapping me around her smallest nail...she knows I love her and responds with a smile...sometimes I even get a lick. Getting ready for a Whitecastle cheeseburger with coffee on the side.

My ex-son in law works for Schwan Foods here in NC. He always stated it’s high quality foods but low quality the way ALL the employees are treated and under paid. I’ve told him hundreds of times “ if you don’t like working there find another job “! He’s still working for Schwanto this day.

My wife and I are fixing to go to OKC and eat at a Mediterranean place. I can't decide if I should have gyros or kofta.

Getting violently ill within 3 hours of eating Chinese food and severe food poisoning, ended up in the ER and given Ipecac to clean out my stomach. Happened over 30 years ago, a few days I will never forget.

If you guys ever saw the back of the house in a typical Chinese restaurant, it would really gross you out... or you could eat in them all the time, figuring what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.... you might build up a tolerance to sickness that would put you on the superhuman level.

I only eat at places I've done work in and verified that they are clean. One of the greatest compliments I can pay a customer is to eat at their place. I've been in places to do a job that I'd walk in the door look around and leave because it was so filthy.

I'm a refrigeration and equipment service tech for 20 years. Like you, if people saw a fraction of what we've seen they would never eat out again.

Made up a mess o' hamburger steaks. Beef and local ground elk with diced onion, garlic, egg and Matzo meal. Mighty good and enough for a few days. Through in a salad of chopped vegies and, viola, we have a meal!

Growing up in San Francisco, long ago, and living downstairs from a Chinese family, I got to know the signs. When I enter a place I have not eaten in before I look for the harmony. If it ain't there, I am not either.

We know the family that owns the local Chinese restaurant and the food is excellent. The grandfather makes the deliveries to our house.

Tonight was sandwiches of multi grain bread with sunflower seeds, olive oil mayo, provelone, mushrooms, bean sprouts, tomato and bacon. Toasted under the broiler. Homemade tabouli on the side. Gonna have a t-bone tomorrow. Grrrrr! 🤠

I was mesmerized by the swimming skin on it from afar.. got up close, it was a skin of flies! The cook pulled it down, shook the flies, chopped it up in front of the diners...[“ I always wondered if the diners ingested fly eggs. Fred’s China barn in Vallejo, all of his cigarettes ash from his long smoke competition ended up on the wok. You are right though... when you can learn the right places to go it is better.

Having venison smoked sausage done up like jerky from Chappell Hill Tx along side some Maytag Blue cheese. My mother was a great food explorer we would try anything once but that back fired once after eating Veitnamese . I don't believe anything has ever had the same effect on me other than getting ready for a colon exam.

Living in a city with many Chinese markets and restaurants, I have seen many smoked ducks hanging both inside and outside. I never noticed flies on the meat. My restaurant visits were largely limited to those places with many Asian customers believing they ought to know who is good and avoiding those places which were for tourists. This meant visiting a lot of "downscale" unpretentious noodle houses and such. San Francisco has a lot of fancy places, those with linen tablecloths, exotic drinks with umbrellas in them and attractive hostesses. Those are pretty good, too, but the food is quite different.
