about to indoor grill a Zweigle's white dawg. Usual stuff on roll, side of Mussleman's smooth applesauce. Later part of an Enteman's pecan Danish with tea & follow 60mins (kinda late as wifie in ICU, mostly in twilight zone..Morphine). Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY I had to look up Zweigle's Red and White Dogs and am now conversant on Rochester's favorite sausage. Sorry about the wife being in the ICU. Here is hoping she returns home soon.

About 30 minutes earlier I had a Hardee’s 1/3 lb thick burger with my horseradish sauce and a side of sweet corn. I’m stuffed👍

Reading the above, I am impressed by our talent pool. WE have some excellent cooks here. Kind of figures that people who demand quality tobacco blends would follow on in the kitchen.
For me, two ground round burgers with salt, pepper, garlic powder mixed in, on the old George Foreman Grill. Toasted buns, Provolone Cheese, sliced onion, an excellent pickle relish, sliced green chile. I am stuffed beyond the capacity for the roasted sweet potatoes and boiled turnip greens I prepared.

I do almost all the cooking in our house. Some nights it is quick fix meal other times I go all out. A lot depends on what we find on sale but we also splurge on better ingredients and new things.

morning greets all. Shortly to be today's Schwan #481 toaster pancakes, Banquet link sausages, real syrup, real butter. After done in toaster, the entire thing nuked to a plateful of mess. Usual Keurig k-cup cocoa, added 1/3 cup 2% milk. All in smoking room & continue with the papers.

Making Sloppy Joe this evening, from scratch. Sauce first, then the meat and vegies. Using the Joy of Cooking recipes for both the sauce and the "loose meat".

Lately I’m on a pot pie kick, a neighbor is headed there for herself, gave her the money for two from KFC. I’m surprised how they are usually stuffed with chicken and vegetables....worth the $5.00👌👍👍

There are usually a couple of Marie Callendar's in my freezer and I have been known to make them from scratch during the winter months. Here is a variant of elk pie. nearest santanderKFC does a decent job on theirs and the price is fair enough. I recall paying more than $5 here about.

Sloppy Joe's here as well, made from scratch Mine came out just fine but not wet enough. I guess the pan was on too long. One serving on a toasted bun, the second on a pre-cooked sweet potato. Hey, the sweet potato works very well with Sloppy Joe!

Funny, I was going to make sloppy Joe's, but I was missing the can of Manwich and I wasn't up to read the JOCing. So the 90/10 went into Hamburger Helper Potato Stroganoff. We usually add sour cream to the mix, but we were out of that to so I substituted Mexican Crema. Pretty good for what it was. Steamed fresh cauliflower and sautéed corn with onions, peppers and cilantro.

I'm sure that is good, but I've never liked sweet potatoes. I could definitely throw it on a regular potato with some sour cream and cheese though.
Mine turned out just a little too sweet, still good, but sweet.

Mine turned out just a little too sweet, still good, but sweet. I was a little aggressive with the brown sugar and mine too was sweeter than my taste. So, I splashed in extra apple cider vinegar and that made a difference. Good enough. It would also be good on a white tater.

JOC calls it "Chili Sauce", more like a spicy ketchup, if you ask me. I confess to enjoying many varieties of Hamburger Helper provided certain amendments are made.

We're going to Fredericksburg and San Antonio for Easter and we will be eating German and Mexican food all weekend. And beer and wine.

The last time the sprinkle top on the cinnamon was loose and I overloaded the potatoes. Man was that good!

I add chili powder to the canned sauce, as well as fresh onion and garlic. Same with jarred spaghetti sauce.
