Big honking piece of boudin with a salad and some leftover lima beans. I'd be down with that this morning after I wake up. Presently starring at a cup of coffee.

I am thinking that lunch today will be my last elk burger with fined diced bacon. Topped with aioli, slice of onion, slice of tomato, pickles, white cheddar, mustard all on a toasted whole wheat Kaiser roll. That old good old Kaiser and his rolls. He was not much for his neighbors but good in the bakery department, it seems. Yes, Old Willy was a lot of laughs. He and Otto V. B. really shook up the place. Let us lift a beer and a brotchen in their honor!

Waiting for the rain to stop so I can fire up the Weber. Pecan charcoal on hand. Tonight will be two Arm Steaks, a Ribeye and two lamb "Chuck" chops. All well seasoned with a combination of "Slap Ya Mama" and "Grub Rub". Texas and Louisiana represented here tonight. There will be a heap O' Hatch chilies on the grill as well.

2 Eggs for lunch and a couple of slices of ham. 2 more lbs down. Almost 1.5 stone lost since 28th July. Congrats on that. What exactly is the equation of stone to pounds?

Wow! It is dumping like Noah and the Ark!

That's a good thing for the Rio Bravo. It's starting to look like Trinity Site around here. Except for the trees and stuff, ya'know?

Too hot to eat much of anything so breakfast for dinner seems to be the way to go...diced green onions, heated up salsa, scrambled eggs with onions and some fried potatoes on the side with grits, salsa on top...maybe a half an English muffin and coffee, of course.
Kaiser dressed well for the event.

The rain will not let up. Just keeps coming and harder. Just got a warning blast over the cell phone that all is lost and prepare to evacuate to higher ground. Crime-and-Punishment! I am at just about 8,000 feet. How much higher do they want me to go? If this dang blasted rain will quit I can light the coals and get on with it......
Overnight low predicted to be 49 degrees. That means damp cold and arthritis flare ups. I can hear my neighbors now complaining about their aches and pains. I will be there with them.

It now appears the meat will have to go back into the fridge for another day. Rain pounding will not let up. Flooding is everywhere now. Soon it will be coming in the front door. I have ordered the life boats swung out and davits cleared. Speed has been reduced to half ahead. Signal rockets ready. Orchestra assembled on the main deck and "Nearer My God to Thee" score at the ready.
I have had to switch to a potato gin prepared in Alcalde NM, just down the road about 60 miles. Excellent stuff but at $37 per bottle on sale, a rare treat for me.

We have a yellowed copy of the recipe for the famous NYC Cheesecake from a now defunct deli. We haven't made it in years because of, you know, FAT! The last time we made it I remember that the ingredients were over $15 and that's over 25 years ago.

Previously prepared chicken breast, aioli, Heinz English Made Baked Beans. Sadly, no chipped potatoes and peas handy. Standard English Institutional meal: Roast Chicken Leg Quarter, chipped potatoes, baked beans, canned peas. I got so I really enjoyed it and miss it. It was something to joke about while I was over there.

soon to be Schwan #458 on indoor GeoForeman grill. 6mins at 300f = medium. Usual fixings, side of Musselman's smooth applesauce. Store brand cookies & tea later with Jeopardy.
Food-wise, keeping it simple as possible. No stove-top cooking in yrs now.
