I've never tried @lonecoyote's suggestion. Although many do have Guinness or whiskey for breakfast... Although over in this part of the woods, buckfast is the drink that flies off the shelf. It's a tonic wine made by monks in England.

Rock Cakes again, from a BBC recipe. Used yogurt instead of milk, turbinado syrup instead of granualted sugar, lots of seeds, nuts, raisins and dried cranberies. Should have used more butter- 4 ounces butter to 8 ounces of flour is still a little dry.

They look absolutely delicious ππ. Cooking is a passion.....you either have it or you donβt! You definitely have that passion and it shows in whatever you cook. If the day ever comes and Iβm living in the streets, donβt be surprised if Iβm meowing outside your front door...lol. Enjoyπππ

Had Frito Pie with cheese and onions. Felt hungry later and fixed some creamed spinach and loaded mashed potatoes.

Cooking in this heat is . . . . . so kept it simple and quick, with 4 minute soft boiled eggs served on toasted & buttered sourdough English muffins. Chilled, sliced tomatoes on the side and Cranberry juice to drink.
