I bought a couple of tins several months ago out of curiosity after reading about it. I just opened it a couple of days ago and I have just microwaved it with butter so far. It's different, but I doubt that I will be buying it in the future unless I need it for some unforseen survival situation. It is better toasted in a toaster. Although frying in butter sounds good, too. It was one of my dear old mother's favorites. She liked it with tea. I need to pick up a couple of cans of Brown Bread with RAISINS. Miss seeing B&M Baked Beans in the glass jar, too. Seems the Bush family kind of took up all the market shelf space with their assortment. Amazon has both, though it's expensive. But if you have a craving for them why not. It will keep. The better stores (HEB) around here stock both. Not the raisin type though.

Boston Brown Bread, from the can into a frying pan, sizling and browned in butter is the way I like it. I like it with cream cheese. Will have to try it the way you do it. That sounds good to me. I am adding cream cheese to the list. πππ€

soon to be Schwan #481 pancakes. Usual prep, additions, k-cup cocoa all to smoking room at desk & continue with the papers. Simple prep, filling...don't need any "new" tastes.

McWiggins: the bologna I just 'pulled' from the fridge for a sandwich, suddenly doesn't look so good.

Is there anything as satisfying as pulled smoked pork? It does not even need barbeque sauce although that does not hurt.

McWiggins: the bologna I just 'pulled' from the fridge for a sandwich, suddenly doesn't look so good. I got something in my smoker on average twice a week. Find yourself on Delmarva, stop by for BBQ and pipes. Yesterday was chicken legs hickory smoked for two hours then wrapped up and sealed with tikka masala sauce. Two more cooking hours later, a crossover of American BBQ and Indian/United Kingdom flavors.

Since there was no pulled smoked pork on hand, I made a sandwich of sliced deli turkey, ham, cheddar and provolone with Dijon mustard and mayonnaise with lettuce on a nice-a bread roll. There are compensations to every complaint....

Agreed! Its great stuff and when I make mine, I use a light coating from a rub and when pulled, add just a splash of apple cider vinegar. I do make BBQ sauces, regular, spicy, marmalade, blueberry and a rasin one. But they are nice to dip into from time to time. 90% of me eating BBQ is sauce free with some dipping at times during the meal.

I actually had vegetarian pulled 'pork' for dinner. Had it in a burrito. Gotta say, it tasted great... But looked nothing like that picture above. Prob didn't taste as good either... But not bad for a veggie alternative.

Just red beans & rice. We are sorta getting tired of meat. (Except for the pork chops on the grill & perogies & gravy last night.)

Popeyes chicken... man I've missed this stuff. One of the ladies up there asked me where I've been. It's not like I went there everyday, just once a week.
I could eat a trough of their red beans and rice

Returned home after a long meeting. Supper was a can of Wolf Chili with extra pinto beans added. A flour tortilla, grilled in a skillet. A makeshift burrito.
Meanwhile, my pal, Josh, is stuffing himself with Popeye's Fried Chicken with Red Beans and Rice. I will bet some of you even had Chinese food out, or a steak, or pulled smoked pork. Oh, woe is me. Woe is me!!!!!!

Its killing me too! Popeye's is my idea of heaven. At least, on the Streets of Glory one can find a Popeye's without a crowd and no cash register.
