Now I am thinking if I ever re-open my place the tag line will be "Best Damn Chicken and Graveyard in the state!" You could team up with an undertaker and do discount burials for people who have passed away from eating the fried chicken.

I had waffles and sausage this morning, with some black riffle coffee , now enjoying maple pecan from dd. Tonight we will be having pasta and spicy Italian sausage with red sauce and a salad.

That sounds nice. I've just finished 2 portions of spag. bol. I find it hard to eat just one plateful. This might not bode well later on in life.

Word on the street is its National Cheeseburger Day. Wife and I picked-up our daughter and drove over to Dandy's Drive-In for cheeseburgers, onion rings, and chocolate shakes (well, daughter had a butterscotch shake)

Had fried shrimp and boudin at homies in orange, Texas. Fabulous, took 4" sticks"of frozen boudin, put it in the cooler to take home with us. Had to fight my way through the Houston, tx. Overpasses...what a nightmare...last sign I saw was Galveston 45miles...oops..finally got back on i-10 east...made it to orange where we stopped for the night...now in slidell,LA. Where we stopped for the night...home tomorrow and can't wait...nothing like being home....humidity in LA. Is like being in a hot bath...miserable. Hope all is well with the fine folks on the patch!

Bojangles sausage biscuit and sweet tea for lunch....pretty good quality π I am not much for corporate chain restaurants. However, Bojangles gets my business whenever I can find them. Love their chicken, biscuits, red beans and rice. Naturally, they not around these parts. There was a store in Alamosa CO, north of me but it was too controversial for the people there, so they closed after six months.

Burger batch fell through. Had some excellent spaghetti and meatballs, ended with a piece of limoncello cake. I'll take it.

Peanut m&ms I had a craving. Good on ya. Moderation is important. One should me moderate, but only in moderation. Every now and then give in to impulse and craving. Live is so extremely short and precious, it would be a shame to be a perfectly healthy and handsome corpse that died of boredom. I have checked the headstones, and not one of them ever memorializes the deceased by pointing out how moderate he was. Now if you told me that avoiding m&ms grants one immortality, well I might pay better attention.

Tonight was the last of the Chicken Fried Steaks from the other night. This time, I took Ron's advice and whipped up a white milk gravy.
A thick slice of applewood smoked bacon, fine diced and melted in a sauce pan,
Diced onion and garlic,
Flour to form a roux.
Hot milk added and simmered. Butter.
Then comes copiuos amounts of dry sherry and a little pepper.
Simmered for a time and then ladled onto the CFS which has been heated in an iron pan with olive oil.
A little bread to sop up what was left over.

They do some business down Southπππ You must try their ....and I quote β One of the cult favorites on the menu is an item called BoBerry biscuits, made from their famous biscuits, baked with blueberries inside, then topped with icing. It's the country version of a English blue-berry scone β.

Ropa Vieja, Pot Roast and Cabbage (in lieu of corned beef brisket), Beef Bourginion, Mexican Barbacoa style. Usually in a crock-pot. It comes out close but not the same. Why did I have to list all that? Now, I am hungry!

Food ... Reminds me of daily Facebook food comments/pictures.... Still not sure why folks feel the need to do so that is unless it was a unique, spectacular etc. experience.

Might add that to the dinner list for next week. I mean a 8 to 10 hour slow cook, depends on the size of the roast. Cook the potatoes with the beef from the start, the last 4 hours throw in the vegetables of your choice. Needs no HP sauce...lol. Although you can put that $hit on any piece of meatππ
