Meatball Marinara with spaghetti squash and penne.
Made a Tart Tartin. This is an apple pie like thingy developed by the Tartin sisters in Fraaance. Crust is baked on top and then the tart is inverted. There is supposed to be substantial caramel on the bottom to hold the apples when it is fipped. I made it in cooking school long ago. Since I have abundant apples this year, it seemed appropriate. If I can successfully flip it and it looks decent, a photo to follow. It was made in a 10 inch iron pan. Flipping involves a large top plate. That is a lot to invert quickly.....
Your Tartin sounds delicious.......both of us in a kitchen at the same time would be an extremely creative adventure 👌👍👍👍 My gravy recipe......hahahahahahahah. Started off with a light brunette ( not a blonde ) roux, fat was 50/50 pork fat rendered and sweet cream butter. To many spices to list, fresh ground nutmeg & cinnamon went in with the evaporated milk and two egg yolks that didn’t break👍👍

Tonight’s Dinner......a very slow cooked pork stew. Four diced sweet onions, 5 fresh plum tomatoes, finely cut carrots, two types of fresh mushrooms, finely diced jalapeños, and a homemade gravy to die for...lol. Had no room in this crockpot for potatoes or beans. No pasta or rice necessary!! The first picture is after one hour of cooking on high. The second picture is 4 hours later cooking on low. The last 30 minutes it’s now set on high. Dinner will be served @ 6:15. Holy mackerel that looks delicious. I would fly over for some of that!

I made raspberry and white chocolate scones today, but I used a recipe that uses self raising flour and it left my mouth really dry.

I used a recipe for pancakes that used SRF and it also felt like I was eating straight flour.

Makes your pancakes as light as air👍

Absolutely the best pizza burger 👍👍👍 I have never seen that. Quite a concept. Makes a great photo. As a matter of practical eating, I might leave the fries (chips) off and substitute a slice of onion. Invert the Pizza "buns".

I add extra Baking Powder to AP Flour for those recipes which call for SR. Sifting is good.

Just had "chili chicken", which is fried nuggets of chicken in a blazing hot sweet sauce with onions and green peppers, and house special curry at my local Indian place. I brought the guy two ghost chilis, and he had the chef put them in my curry. It was a food sauna, to say the least.

Ah, that is the answer....Gonna have to do that for future baking...SRF is not always the best way to go...simpler, but not the best. If I am gonna go to the trouble I want it right. Another blueberry muffin with a side of water...getting ready to think about dinner.

Leftover pork stew from two nights ago......enough for a good lunch for two........topped off with extra mushrooms that would not fit in the crockpot. They were cooked separately 👍👍. The ex is having Gourmet croutons from Costco.
