We are going to put this on hold until after the Chicagoland Pipe Show. This will give Justin an opportunity to speak with Phil Morgan of Missouri Meerschaum. Any questions PM me.

If I may be so bold to suggest a loge for the stem..how about a Bing silloette?

I'll +1 that. Cobs are an excellent option, but if we decide to go briar, Moonshine is a great choice. And they do have the laser etching tools..

I have interest in a poty if it comes in at the lower end of the range being discussed. I'm not the Cob Guy, but I'm a cob guy.

How a bout a 4-leaf clover as part of our PoTY etching? Do we have any graphic designers on board?

Someone should be assigned the task of the "doing" and take a lead role. And ignore anyone who is not buying... "Too many chefs in the kitchen" is THE classic human problem. The thing about buying in bulk, you guarantee a maker a large amount of cash without the struggle of finding more business. So there are usually discounts... To me the big question is: what shape?

I could go for a nice Poker or Bulldog, but I also like bent amber stems.

Thanks for all the input guys.
As Dave said, we are putting the brakes on this until after Chicago. My goal will be to speak to Phil in person and be able to get some more specifics on what is available to us.
While I appreciate that there are Briar options out there on the lower end of the price spectrum, I think a cob is the most sensible way to go for our first POTY. We are new and still growing. This gives the greatest number of members the chance to participate and do so for a price that won't hurt the wallet.
We can look at additional options in the future.

Definitely the way to go. Additionally the price would leave room for a T-shirt or patch/sticker of TBP.
