This might be the last transmission for the night. As mentioned, sinuses are affecting "our hobby." Read in the news that Platypus Milk might be able to stop super-predator antibiotic resistant bacteria. Always loved platypuses since childhood. Then I remembered Richard Jeni, comedian, the Platypus Man who killed himself 10 years and 1 week ago today. I am not as fond of modern comedy. I take the view of Red Skelton that if you don't have to get dirty to be funny. Jeni never got too bad. More than that, he was a genius. Amazon Prime Members can see his Platypus Man Stand Up for free. The one video that makes me cry it's so funny never made it to DVD and I don't have a VCR to play the tape I bought years ago. Well, it is on DVD. eBayers must think McClelland made it, as they are charging 110$. I went to RichardJeni.com and bought the DVD from his family for 20$. You can also find clips of him on YouTube, but I didn't find them to be the video quality worth posting. Lastly, a note on this thread. As told, it's. I do get inboxes from some of my posts. I see that people do read them. A lot of memories I just feel like putting on the web so someone searching a hundred years ago gets "my take" on things. However, it's not just my thing. It's not whether I am replied to or not. It is about anyone who wants to dump thoughts here, vent, share a joy, and it's all in one place. Oh, and smokes, too. Anyway, will see you all on the morrow. A little worn out for the moment. Goodnight Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are My wife and I loved his comedy too, David. Very sad that he chose to leave us so early. Along similar clean comedy lines, we love Brian Regan and Jim Gaffigan. They kill me and are never dirty or vulgar.

Drove back to Mexico City and stopped to pick up a hitch hiker. A very polite person. Going on date 5 in about 20 mins. This one is at a tapas bar.

Sounds like a nice evening ... good luck and have fun! Thanks, it was all right. The tapas place was a bust as it got taken over by karoake singers so we ended up walking around and getting a pizza instead.

That one seems to be many bits he has used, but he nails them perfectly in that performance. I'll try to post a few clips after I get it. I'll look up the ones you suggest on the morrow. Thanks for the suggestion.

4 dates this week, nothing great. At least the dog isn't showing mixed allegiences. Another date and a drive back to Mexico City tomorrow. I spent an awful lot of money on women and alcohol in my day--the rest I just wasted. Enjoy!!!

I should have known when I hit thirty that it wasn't as old as I thought.

Along the above lines, if I thought I'd live this long I would have been more careful with my money.

I should have planned better myself. The one saving grace is I never trusted money. I got rid of it every chance I got. I may just have one heck of an estate sale one of these days. I/we live SSI check to SSI check, but damnit, I have some great comics

That's two hours of sitting next to someone you don't know. You give her the ability to size you up for those two hours. If she plasters her hand to her forehead showing the L sign, change fancy dinner plans and go to McDonald's.

The money supported the hobbies. That's why it's gone

That's good advice although, now, a lot of dates insist on paying or at least splitting the check! It's a new world out there.

Frankly, I'd rather pay and avoid the confusion.

Frankly, I'd rather pay and avoid the confusion. I would probably resent it. Over the years I've sort of been retro in my beliefs on manners. Instead of getting more casual, I wound up going the other way. Fortunately, Xuan was only here six months (in the US), didn't know our customs, and had no idea how much of a screwball I was/am

I watched Wonder Woman and Justice League over the weekend. I actually have little bad to say about them. My biggest issue was them putting facial characteristics in Batman's Cowl. The lines between his brows made him look like he was constantly worried.
Never been a Ben Affleck fan, but I think he's the best Batman since Keaton. Had high hopes for Clooney. Maybe it was the writing. JL managed to give Bruce Wayne more of a personality in the movie, unlike some of the others. Vote for worst Batman: Christian Bale. First time out I saw his fat cheeks coming out of the cowl and all I could think of was a fargin squirrel. A total aside is one of the old Batman Serials where Batman/Wayne was played by Robert Lowery. He actually gave more of true to comic Wayne appearance.
Thought Wonder Woman was pretty good, interesting. Was not sure of Gadot's fit in the role, but was won over fairly quickly.
The new Superman is pretty good. I really wish they would have taken Tom Welling, who played Superboy, and put him in the role. He's as close of a fit to Chris Reeve as I have ever seen.
Time to go through my comics again. These movies always do it to me.
Bully is hunkered down for the night. Life is sweet.

Some movies are worth forgetting and some you can't believe you forgot, considering how good they were. A buddy of mine way back when went to see The Paper Chase with me. We were both on our way to flunking out, and this movie added to the madness. It turned into a TV show that had one year on CBS and then a decade later had three more seasons on PBS. One of the actors in the movie, Edward Hermann, famous for playing FDR, is shown below with what looks like a well worn pipe. Great actor now gone. Anyway, I watched bits and pieces of the movie tonight and will follow up with a full viewing. I must go years in between thinking of this, yet it (to me) is one of the greats.

I knew him as Richie Rich's dad.

That was a pretty good movie. I grew up (besides Archie) reading Richie Rich, Sad Sack, and Legion of Super-Heroes. I still enjoy reading them all. Casting Hermann as Mr. Rich was as good of a match as you can get.

Smoking some CB Gold in a Poker that @rekamepip gave me. It's not one of his Sloop John B Ships of the Line, and I have no way to describe it, save to say I have had a lot of luck with everything from John, purchase or gift.
Woke up wonderfully late. Bully was happy to greet me, climbing all over me. I think he realizes his only doggie job is to be loved.
Curse of Civil War Gold is on History Channel tonight.
Curry Chicken in the offerings for supper.
