Looks like a cooler will fit under it. I'd be measuring space to see how many Ball Jars will fit under it, too. Just sayin

@10furlongs, glad to see you back and I appreciate the new attitude. I have been examining some of my posts and I am trying to clean up my own act.

That would be perfect for our front porch. I have kept my wife out of Tractor Supply because I have been afraid she would buy a tractor. This is one more reason.

Very glad to see david and @10furlongs put the s*it aside and are getting along. Excellent on both your parts, brothers. Also: Last night I made some Corned Beef and veggies that was soaked in a little brown sugar and Guinness extra stout and baked at 300 degrees for 7 hours. Good Lord, this was by far the best corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and red potatoes I have ever eaten. I mean, it is high quality Irish restaurant good. If anyone is interested in making it here is the recipe: steamykitchen.com/14556-guinness-corned-beef-with-cabbage-recipe.htmlTrust me, you want to try this recipe. Make sure you bake the corned beef for at least 6 ours so it soaks up the Guinness and brown sugar flavors.

I asked the waitress about it and she said that I was the first one that had ever ordered it in that restaurant. Still, I like the ingredients separately and I believe I will try your recipe. Thanks for posting it. Ron

It sounds like a must. For a semi-simple meal today I took a can of Tomato Bisque and a package of Annie Chung's Sweet and Spicy Noodles. I like my noodles al dente, but the sauce, mixed with tomato soup, was to die for. I just placed an order for several bottles of the sauce and may store it with my tobacco. Mark made the move, but I was a major part in escalating things. I watched too many Perry Mason episodes while staying at a Holiday Inn Express. Anyway, he's a Kentucky Colonel, which is awarded by the governor. That says a lot.

I forgot to add, I put in 3 bottles of Guinness instead of 2 as the recipe states. Of course, you can add as much or as little as you think is needed.

I think one's tummy should be primed by a fifth bottle of Guiness before the food goes down Meant fourth and fifth. The first one for the tummy should be understood

That would be perfect for our front porch. I have kept my wife out of Tractor Supply because I have been afraid she would buy a tractor. This is one more reason. We used to go to the farm supply store every year or so to get packers coats (white cotton dusters). I was not that much into that stuff, but one look in the store I found all sorts of toys I wanted. It was like going into a foreign country and seeing all sorts of local foods and candies to eat. And, they had a lot of big toys, too.

I think it would have to be low and slow in a crock pot. I have had more shrinkage issues with them. They always come out tender, but one fifth the size they started with.

Christmas Spice/Pumpkin Spice in the Lady Margaret Cob.
Bully the Lionhearted started Spring Training today. Initial reports, before we adopted him, said he loved playing catch with tennis balls. So, I bought eighteen of them only to have them ignored. He learned the art of squeak toys, though. All day and night.
Today he was digging in something I thought I was going to have to pull him out of. It turned out one of the tennis balls was there. He had to show daddy his fielding abilities in hopes to make the team. In my heart he was there from day one.

Came to visit my parents for the weekend. My mom made so much fish and bought so much mamay that there is no way they won't be throwing half of it out on Monday.

On this day in 44 BC, Julius Caesar was murdered by his best friend and a bunch of politicians. His name is still remembered above all his contemporaries.

I don't see why not. It should work fine. But David's idea of low and slow is key.

David, just curious if you’ve ever tried Germain King Charles? Some would consider it a boring smoke which I get because it’s pretty one paced throughout the bowl and lacks complexity; however, that’s one of things I dig about it. It’s completely dependable and you know what you’re going to get every time you fire up a bowl. It’s a shag cut light English which would probably never bite unless the bowl was packed tight and huffed on. Check out the reviews on TR and let me know if you’d like to give it a go. If so, shoot me a PM with your address and I’ll get a tin headed to St. Louie.

Went out for a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich break at work. In my little hidden "spot" there sat a man looking down at the ground. I asked how it was going and he informed me that he'd been homeless for a week. So, I gave him the numbers to 2 local shelters and handed him my coffee and sandwich. The look in his eyes was more than enough thanks and we parted ways. Never forget how lucky we are and how quickly it can all change.

I am amazed at how much sadness, kindness, and sometime cruelty can happen within that moment. Xuan and I were in Las Vegas in the 90's. There was a Native American Vet with no legs on the street asking for help. Xuan is always suspicious of my parting with any money. I gave the man something. As I did so, a stranger screams in my ear, "You fool! He's going to go and gamble it away!" I replied that I hope he wins a million. Xuan turned to that man and said, "That's right!" He walked away mad. She gave me a rare hug. I bring that up in response to your post because it is important to seize the moment, not to worry about what you did five minutes ago, how you should have handled it, or what you will do the next time. Live in that moment and TCB. Again, I say... Good call

Sinus issues and remaining touch of flu acted up last night and today. I tried 4-Noggins Double Fantasy in an Unfinished Ukrainian Bent Egg. Could not taste it. Smoking Ennerdale Flake that went dry as a bone in a Rob Roy Cob. Now this I can taste. Not sure if it should have had some moisture, but I figured most plugs are pretty dry. Might be my last smoke of the day.
edit - I forgot to add (it's been so long) re: Last Post. Later on that day Xuan and I saw the disabled vet shooting dice. Even someone in his health and financial shape could spend a few moments in a very nice casino, smiling. Again, Xuan saw my logic. Really proud of her... and she didn't hit me with a frying pan when we got home

This might be the last transmission for the night. As mentioned, sinuses are affecting "our hobby."
Read in the news that Platypus Milk might be able to stop super-predator antibiotic resistant bacteria. Always loved platypuses since childhood. Then I remembered Richard Jeni, comedian, the Platypus Man who killed himself 10 years and 1 week ago today. I am not as fond of modern comedy. I take the view of Red Skelton that if you don't have to get dirty to be funny. Jeni never got too bad. More than that, he was a genius. Amazon Prime Members can see his Platypus Man Stand Up for free. The one video that makes me cry it's so funny never made it to DVD and I don't have a VCR to play the tape I bought years ago. Well, it is on DVD. eBayers must think McClelland made it, as they are charging 110$. I went to RichardJeni.com and bought the DVD from his family for 20$. You can also find clips of him on YouTube, but I didn't find them to be the video quality worth posting.
Lastly, a note on this thread. As told, it's. I do get inboxes from some of my posts. I see that people do read them. A lot of memories I just feel like putting on the web so someone searching a hundred years ago gets "my take" on things. However, it's not just my thing. It's not whether I am replied to or not. It is about anyone who wants to dump thoughts here, vent, share a joy, and it's all in one place. Oh, and smokes, too. Anyway, will see you all on the morrow. A little worn out for the moment. Goodnight Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are

Tough day today. I have spent the last hour trying to figure out whether to type... I did squat today Or I didn't do squat today
Are they the same?
I was trying to tell someone on Twitter that they were full of crap, but I decided to type it into Italian and wound up in trouble again. Oh, you are so full of crapola? Crappola? Crapolla? or.... the Full Monte... Crappolla? I was going to watch the Sopranos for reference, but I already know how it sounds and you can't truse the close caption to get it right.
Everyday Ole Brindle Butt (Bully the Lionhearted) gets a little more active. He's bringing his sloppy toys to bed and jumping all over me playing games. Sooo different than when he first came here.
Going to wind down the night looking at some old Universal Horror Flicks. The Blu-Ray Old Dark House with Karloff, Laughton, Melvin Douglas. I almost didn't get this, as I didn't figure Blu-Ray could really improve B&W films. In this case they used better source material and it makes quite the difference. When we were kids our friends would all pile on top of each other to watch the monster flicks in our basement. I'm not sure whether we inspired the writers at MAD Magazine or they inspired us, but we were all little shits. The adults in the neighborhood would see my brothers and me and say, there goes the Dalton Gang. Mom got pissed and we moved farther out into suburbia. At present, Bully is keeping guard over Xuan, at her computer desk. Life is sweet... and I am thankful for it.
