I guess tomorrow my 1st part of birthday TAD will arrive.. not much but it is mine and the wife did say I could buy some!!! too bad it arrives during a snowstorm and when the installer is scheduled to come to put in my new floor..

WOOF WOOF, crapgame and happy, blessed birthday! It may be my tastebuds, but it reminds me of CCP&BN. Buttery, maybe even savory. It's a little much by itself. I will be using mine to mix with something like mousse, but I have Chocolate Truffle. Worked pretty well. I am going to mix with straight burley next, as I feel if I tone down the butter I will get some more of a nougat flavor. I think it's well worth having around for blending, and you may get more out of it straight than I do. David |

Going to be spending a little less time here for a week or so. I really love this forum, but I may be spending too much time online. I mentioned to a couple that I am dealing with my mom losing her memory. Since I can't get out to see her, I call her daily. It's frustrating, but mom is like my best friend. Anyway, I am getting a little mixed up in my mind, too. I don't know if it's natural or maybe PC induced. Been into computers for over thirty years now. Anyway, not going anywhere. Going to be spending a little less time here for a week or so. I really love this forum, but I may be spending too much time online. Some movies are worth forgetting and some you can't believe you forgot, considering how good they were. A buddy of mine way back when went to see The Paper Chase with me. We were both on our way to flunking out, and this movie added to the madness. It turned into a TV show that had one year on CBS and then a decade later had three more seasons on PBS. One of the actors in the movie, Edward Hermann, famous for playing FDR, is shown below with what looks like a well worn pipe. Great actor now gone. Anyway, I watched bits and pieces of the movie tonight and will follow up with a full viewing. I must go years in between thinking of this, yet it (to me) is one of the greats. 
seeing Edward Hermann makes me want to watch Lost Boys

I listened to several of her videos. And cute as the dickens too! (I assume that is from her mother's genetic contribution).  Interesting that she likes a variety of music. My kid was like that. He would load CD's in his player and it would be something like this: Beatles, Bach, Emmylou Harris, Steppenwolf, Miles Davis..... It was all just music to him. Interesting..... |

Couple things I have learned recently on smoking. Not sure if this applies to all.
For the first several months I have been trying to get the promised flavor out of aros.
I was cleaning my pipes with warm water as someone in Magazonia mentioned. I separated the stem and used a cleaner with warm water. Sometimes used pipe sweetener on both parts. I think all I was doing was spreading the ash thinner and sort of coating it.
I quit doing that and dry clean with a thin pipe cleaner and use a dry paper towel or folded dry pipe cleaner on the bowl. This helped.
Also, it was not till I started putting more English in my rotation that the flavor when I did smoke aros seemed to pop more.
I also use Brigham Cleaners, as they are thinner and there is no fluffy end that always bends.

I've also noticed that you can get so used to one flavour that you almost fail to taste it at all; I guess it speaks to the need for variety i.e. the spice of life. On the plus side one of my beer thieving cousins is moving away making it a little more safe to keep beer at home. I'm going to miss her. |
