Yikes. At least here if the central heating breaks you wrap up with a few jumpers.
When it's too hot it's not like you can remove your skin.
indeed! i've always got blankets around, and I can make more. I much prefer to have to bundle up, I can handle cold. Heat kills me. trying to figure out how to crawl into the freezer....

I always says you can add extra layers to stay warm. When it's hot you can only take so many off before it becomes a serious crime.
Exactly!!! I don't understand the people who love this weather. They have a few bolts loose I think.

Lay my head on the surgeon's table Take my fingerprints if you are able Pick my brains, pick my pockets Steal my eyeballs and come back for the sockets Run every kind of test from A to Z And you'll still know nothing 'bout me Run my name through your computer Mention me in passing to your college tutor Check my records, check my facts Check if I paid my income tax Pore over everything in my C.V. But you'll still know nothing 'bout me You'll still know nothing 'bout me You don't need to read no books on my history I'm a simple man, it's no big mystery In the cold weather, a hand needs a glove At times like this, a lonely man like me needs love Search my house with a fine tooth comb Turn over everything 'cause I won't be at home Set up your microscope and tell me what you see You'll still know nothing 'bout me
Our ac unit has a leak in the evaporator coil and the condo owner has everything taken care of with a home warranty so it takes a long time to get anything done. It's been a week now since he agreed to put in a new system, but will likely take another 2 weeks to get it put in.

Make a call, leave a message with a board member that you need your AC ASAP due to health reasons. Might help.....good luck 👌👍👍
I feel sorry the folks having A/C issues. I finally got to turn mine on this week and am lucky I know how to fix it myself if it goes down. A friend of mine had his go down last year and had a guy come out and told him his compressor was shot and needed to replace everything. He asked me to check it out for a second opinion and I found the capacitor and fan motor were bad. I replaced them and changed the contactor and it's still running. If you feel unsure about what someone is telling you always get a second opinion.

I often wish I had a knowledge of stuff like this, esp with cars. I could be getting ripped off left right and centre and I wouldn't know it.

Cars are something I know nothing about anymore. I do most of the routine stuff myself but the major stuff I'm at the dealers mercy. The best service is our Kia dealer, always treated us good. The worst is every Ford dealer in the area, Ive been ripped off by every one of them and will no longer buy Fords. When my work van dies I will be buying a new Dodge van.

A little basic knowledge about how an engine works can really go a long way. I'm not a mechanic by any means, but I can troubleshoot just about anything. It saves a lot of money.
I saved over $700 replacing my $60 clutch fork myself. It sucked, but it was the best route to go.
HVAC is one of the few things in my line of work that I know nothing at all about. I dont really care to learn either.
Holly had to make another trip over to the property management company to complain about the Home Warranty company and about the owner not doing anything yet. It sure helps that I did 25 plus years of commercial air conditioning and Refrigeration but for now it is at least cooling, not the greatest, but it is running a lot and running my electri Bill up. I did see on the news or France broke their all-time Heat record of 114.6 degrees.

Was watching the local morning news and found out the local paper after 150 years is shutting down August 31st even the online version. Really sad to see this happen.

It really does suck. In surprised that our local paper is still in business. But I'm sure that since were a "historical town" and they've made the paper there the whole time, theres some "big money" that funds it. I still pick up a Sunday paper most of the time.
Print is dying a slow death I found a website that discussed which papers were done and the ones on the way to done. I get the LA Times online as I got a deal many years ago for a lifetime when they first started online. Cant wait for the NYT @ WP to go as they have turned into one sided rags. newspaperdeathwatch.com/
