Thanks for all the support...roof is flat and only about 10' up...I've fallen out of beds that were higher. Went up to check on my handiwork...after it rained (of course)...patch looked pretty good, tomorrow morning (God willing) I'll put another layer on to make sure that the crack is sealed...wife told me that it has been at least 15 years since I redid the roof...so pretty good life expectancy and only a slight crack (just enough to let water in, of course).

Internet went out yesterday and I have been fighting it all day today. I have it patched up but I am going to replace the cable modr3, wireless router and the switch. So no smokes today because when I am anxious I smoke too fast and hot.

Having a great time in sligo at this conference. Heading to the beach this afternoon, although it's quite wet and rainy.
I got bitten on the leg by a cleg fly on Monday and my leg is getting infected. Need to get a cream to calm that bad boy down... Then Ice cream.
I've not been around here much as I've not much time. I hope everyone is doing well. Take care, brothers and sisters.

I thought it was because we don't have any livestock anymore. 🙃🤠 Probably, that too. Although if you happen to drive past a feed lot...you'll think that someone was eating rats and took a dump.

Yeah, when we go northwest to the panhandle area there's miles where we can't breathe.

Amazing how bad that smell is...and if it gets in your clothes and you stop at a restaurant...people look at you like you just dropped a load in your pants.

Got a call from my Grandson, wanting advice, he broke off a hose bib on side of house and they had to call a plumber, cost right at 200$ to fix, his Dad told my Grandson he doesn’t want to see him anymore. I’ve stayed away from his Dad, the prick, Grandsons Birthday is Saturday he will be 15, on his hike at Philmont he took his tennis shoes off and the pack mule chewed them up. His Mom said a replacement pair would be a good gift, told her I would go half on a pair. The Dad took the kids money he was saving to pay the plumber, why wasn’t the Dad showing the kid how to unscrew a cross threaded hose on a bib, that’s when he broke it off. Anyway to ease his hurt feelings I told him Adults sometimes say things they don’t mean and have pressures on them they don’t share with their children.i told him he had just hiked 65 Miles in the desert and he was a little man in my book.To ease the pain I told him I would call him Saturday on his birthday and send him a check to cover the broke bib, now remember his Dad is a pilot for FedX on an international route. Can’t stand the prick but I’ve never shown it. That’s my story for today.

My kids have broken stuff and I was mad about it but I made them repair it with my help so in the future they would know how to do it themselves. What a teachable moment lost. It's good of you to help him out with his shoes and the money lost. You're a great granddad.

I had an interesting start to my day. Went out to go to work and one of my trash cans was tipped over and trash was all over the yard. It is a large wheeled tote can and was very heavy. After getting the trash cleaned up I lifted the can up and under it was a flat raccoon. Thought it was pretty funny a garbage can got revenge on a raccoon.

OldCajun...some parents weren't mean to be parents doesn't take too many incidents like that to permanently damage the child's self esteem and lead to other more problematic issues...Good for you for being a "father" to the young man.

I do believe the man missed a teachable moment. Turn off the water unscrew the broke off fitting go to the hardware store and buy the repair parts. Then fix the thing together. I never had a son so I taught my daughter all those basic skills. She has her own tools and can fix all kinds of stuff.

I love people that dont fix their own stuff. It keeps food on my table, bills paid, and a closet full of diapers. If someone is actually interested in learning, I'll show them how to do it themselves next time. Anytime something tears up around the house, I make it a point to show one of my boys how to fix it.
That's still sh!try Brad. His dad needs kicked in the .....

oldcajun123, good in ya for being the GRAND father to the boy. Shame about the way his father handled the situation. I'm sure that's a memory your grandson will have for life. Ed, glad you popped in here. I hope things improve back to normal really really quickly for you and the missus. You're in our prayers. Got some antihistamine cream for my leg. Still itches like crazy when I touch it, but I don't think the leg will fall off, so all is good.

Paddy Old Cajun remedy that actually works, a tobbaco poltace, used down here for spider bites, wasps, old people would chew on Tobbaco to moisten it and tie it to wound. It works.
