Got a call from my Grandson, wanting advice, he broke off a hose bib on side of house and they had to call a plumber, cost right at 200$ to fix, his Dad told my Grandson he doesn’t want to see him anymore. I’ve stayed away from his Dad, the prick, Grandsons Birthday is Saturday he will be 15, on his hike at Philmont he took his tennis shoes off and the pack mule chewed them up. His Mom said a replacement pair would be a good gift, told her I would go half on a pair. The Dad took the kids money he was saving to pay the plumber, why wasn’t the Dad showing the kid how to unscrew a cross threaded hose on a bib, that’s when he broke it off. Anyway to ease his hurt feelings I told him Adults sometimes say things they don’t mean and have pressures on them they don’t share with their children.i told him he had just hiked 65 Miles in the desert and he was a little man in my book.To ease the pain I told him I would call him Saturday on his birthday and send him a check to cover the broke bib, now remember his Dad is a pilot for FedX on an international route. Can’t stand the prick but I’ve never shown it. That’s my story for today. Sounds like a great kid. If he ever needs anything in the Houston area let me know.

Paddy Old Cajun remedy that actually works, a tobbaco poltace, used down here for spider bites, wasps, old people would chew on Tobbaco to moisten it and tie it to wound. It works. My grandmother was a nurse for 50 years before penicillin and that's exactly what she would have used.

Thanks for the advice, oldcajun123. But that's a waste of good tobacco, is it not? 😁

They left out the part about having to roll under the chicken coop three times counter clockwise. The reason those ol remedies work is the cure is always worse than ailment so folks would just suck it up rather than endure another treatment.

Better watch out for snakes under the chicken coop...copperheads are fierce this time of year as well as other snakes and vermin...actually most vermin live in the cities.

Red man plug was my favorite, many moons ago. When I couldnt find Plug I'd go with the plain green pouch. I haven't had any "chew" in several years.

I had friends in the 60's who would smoke anything, including incense. I remember them coughing up soot for a week after smoking frankencence. I had uncles who chewed the plug, but their wives all used Garrett. I think the Garrett would make a good poultice. A heavy perique and Latakia blend would also work.

Morning folks! I hope you all have a great day.
I'm at work, but loving it. I'm alone, ear buds in, music loud, paint brush in hand. My favorite way to work.

I learned a long time ago that I DO NOT dance. The most you'll get out of me is bouncing my head or tapping my hands to the beat. Not drunk, not sober, not with a fox, not in a box!
Good morning Sean

Got up early, let Buddy out, made coffee, lit up a 5 Vegas Gold Torpedo, nice on porch, watched Buddy do his bird patrol, doves get a work out from him. Saw all the cobwebs in the trees glistening, little wood ducks in their boxes across the road , traffic very light. Watching British open today, wife ordered 3 bags of cracklings fron local butcher, he makes them every Saturday, Son from Houston going wild on them, can’t get good ones like these in Houston.

While Scott was wasting time with karate, I went to the barbecue shack, chatted with the owner for a while, and brought back 2 pounds of brisket and a rack of ribs. No sauce required. 😁🤠

No sauce required. 😁🤠 while you BOTH were wasting time in your endeavors, I sat down to a crappy Italian sub, and a table full of snuff for the afternoon. BBQ and karate sound like a better use of time. Although, the local BBQ place where I'm vacationing sent me a $50 gift certificate, so I'm gonna have to try them out. Sauce may, or may not, be needed. If it's bad, I can karate chop them. Then I'll feel like I've completed BBQ Kararte day.

Drove home from sligo this morning and fell asleep when I got home. Managed a pipe later when I woke up. It's now 7pm and I'm heading to bed shortly. I love getting back into my own bed.

Funny thing how some threads that don't have a point can still go off the rails.
