Feral animal populations are not a joke caused by irresponsible people who release unwanted pets into the wild. This causes massive damage to other animals and bird and reptile populations and doing harm to the ecosystem. The most effective control of these unwanted population is culling. Now civilized folks don't like it when a person does this themselves so we pay people to round them up and then kill them elsewhere the end result is the same. Bullet or gas chamber or death by injection where the animal dies from a heart attack. So you ask yourself which is more humane instant death or slow death and decide what makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Before you pass judgment even the no kill shelters euthanize at a rate of around 10% and regular pounds the rates are even higher. Visit a local animal shelter and you will find they are geared towards dogs. Face it some folks where never meant to own anything other than goldfish and while I don't advocate killing anything yourself I have no problem with folks that do unless they enjoy it. YMMV

I believe that cat likes you a little bit.
We moved and my smoking buddy (the cat) ran away. I've said it before, but I really didn't care for cats until I started with the pipe. I miss the thing laying in my lap as I puff away

^^^Not my business, but you know me, Josh...NOTHING...that is what will keep you on the "stupid farm". You've dealt with this moron too long already, time to make your move and go up and not back into the morass of stupidity. He could offer you adoption and still you have to deal with his ignorance...He had his chance and if he NOW has something to offer, means he had it before and could have offered it to you then.
DON'T DO IT!!!!!

I miss the thing laying in my lap as I puff away He was a sweetie, and a real suck up which saved his life. š He is living happily with my 94 years old Den Mother. His litter, that was born in the bathroom wall, is haunting my yard and has decimated the squirrel population as well as the birds. They yowl outside the bedroom window all night. He, (Tiger), is happy in her lap, leaving to chomp a mouse every so often. He has accounted for over a dozen last I heard. I don't dislike most pet cats. I don't have anything personal against cats in general. I have 3 cats that belong to friends that I am very fond of.

Well, I've started making inquiries for spring. Shweetie and I found ourselves needing to hunker down and spend the winter here in NC. So I got a job driving a forklift and pulling lumber at a lumber yard. But I just made contact with a friend of mine who owns a guide business in Alaska about riding for him come the new season in spring. He knows me well, and though I've never ridden for him, two of my boys have. He's loves my boys and has always tried to get them back, and he knows I trained them.
He was on his way out the door heading back up into the mountains for a week. He delivers moose hunters to camp in the wilderness, and then packs them and their game out. He's gonna call when he gets back out.
Two weeks on this forklift and I'm already bored. It's gonna be a looooong winter.

Gut says it's time to go. Paying me more doesnt make him any smarter, or make the other guy work any harder.
Now, if he wants to get some jobs, send just me and a NEW helper, and give me a couple hundred more a week, then we can negotiate.

I fell asleep on a trail horse once. Woke up when he rubbed me against a barbed wire fence.

So humid in Houston today that downtown Houston looks like 18th century London. Fogged in in the middle of the day.

Trust your gut but use your head more. Look at the big picture from all angles. Pay hours BENEFITS insurance any thing like 401's travel time, peace of mind, Thanks for jobs well done. Honesty all these factors. Discuss it with the Mrs. an make a sound decision between the two of you. It's your family's future at stake here. Good luck Young man wish you the best.

Never burn your bridges just mosey on down the trail of life. Years ago I asked a man for a raise he said he could not afford when I left I took my accounts with me. He came to my new place of work begging me to come back. Suddenly I had worth that he said he could not afford I stayed at my new job despite the offer. I simply thanked him for the offer and thanked him for teaching me skills I could use to better myself. Yes even I can sometimes not let my behind overload my mouth because I might need that job offer one day. Today I cleaned up my desk area and put down a nice new giant mouse pad. I even cleaned all the computer cables, speakers, mouse, keyboard and monitor, washed my window and even the lenses for the lighting. Made time for a cigar and changed the bulbs out in the kitchen lighting. The only thing left to do is change my bad attitude. Nah too much trouble at this point.

Back from get together with Cousins at local restaurant. Had a big turnout, we hugged and talked, my cousin who is a retired surgeon, clinked his glass and shamed me into standing up to tell stories, Iām this story teller in my family, old people I could listen to them all day long, I told them a lot of funny stories, them some sad ones about the family, saw tears, you got to bring it all in, you have to know where you came from. They finally let me sit down , food was being served. My 97 yr old Uncle was there, he was on the ship that cruised to Yalta with Roosevelt for the Yalta Conference, his 94 yr old sister was there, great gathering, was fussed at for not attending, promised to do better.

I'm not changing jobs only because of money. It has a lot to do with the quality of work that my boss puts out these days. Also, the new job has growth opportunity.
The raise is nice, dont get me wrong. But, like I said before, I didnt NEED a new job, I just needed more incentive to change over and work more hours.

Wish you the best of luck on the new job Josh. When I interviewed for the last place I worked I explained to them that I was looking for a place to work not a job. I could get a job anywhere and if it turned into a job I would leave. Three years after that to the day I left and went on my own and haven't looked back.

You can't fix stupid, even with duct tap. You old boss might would have given you more money, but that wouldn't have made him any smarter. And from reading your posts, that frustrated you worse than the finances. I too think you've made a good decision.
