I go through spurts where I eat sunflower seeds like crazy, and then I wont touch em for a year. Finally getting my knee seen about. It wasnt bad yesturday so I put it off. Now today its swollen half way down my shin, it's red and it's warm... That doesn't sound normal. I hope it doesn't set you back from work too much. Maybe it's from all that running on your wheel, ya big hamster. |

It wont put me out of work unless they cut it off. When I knocked the whole end of my thumb off, I only missed 1 day. That was only because my surgery was at 10am

Drew blood to be tested tomorrow. Said it could be an infection, or maybe gout. I've never had an issue with gout, I rarely eat the "trigger" foods, I dont drink alcohol, and I drink 6+ bottles of water a day.
Glad I paid money and wasted time for them to guess what's wrong with me.
Their solution: prednisone, lots of water, no shellfish, no alcohol, ice once in a while... Well golly gee, that's going to be a tough one.
Idiots. It's why I hate going to the dr.

Keep in mind that prednisone weakens the immune system. So, if it is an infection, it's going to get worse.

Hope they get it figured out Josh. I had something similar years ago and had a blood clot. They got it in time and said if I waited it could have been the end of me.

I have quite a few tattoos Brad, but I'll never shy away from adding more. Sean, I drink LOTS of water, even in the winter when most people forget to. Ken, I had an infection by my knee before because I knelt down on a nail, it was no fun. While running my self diagnostics I came across it being a sign of a possible blood clot. Between that, and the pain, that's why I went today. It's not time for me to check out just yet. The lady said I needed to take time off work, obviously shes not my regular doctor or she would know that's not an option. Going to push through tomorrow and Friday and then rest Saturday and Sunday as long as it doesnt get worse by then. |

Today has been a mega busy day. I'll catch up on everyone tomorrow. However, I've stopped in to say that I had my first proper bowl of Presbyterian mixture this afternoon. Or just dumb. Bills dont pay themselves, family doesn't eat for free. I can sit home and do nothing with a sore knee and make $0, or I can go to work with a sore knee and get paid for it. Either way, I still have a sore knee. I have the same belief when I'm sick, unless its contagious.

Negative. Me and my current boss had a serious talk and he offered me enough money, put me on salary with no extra hours, made it clear that I'm running the jobs from now on, and at any time I can fire whoever doesnt work out.
I talked to the other guy (the new boss) and told him I really appreciated the opportunity, but right now wasnt the time. I explained the offer that I got and the reason for me staying, he said I'd be a fool not to stay. Fact is, I have 3 small children, along with several others, my time with them is worth more. I'm going to miss work for dr. appointments and stuff, so a nice raise and guaruntee the same amount every week won me back. The new boss told me at any time if it didnt work out, or I got tired of it, not to hesitate to call him his original offer would stand, and he would have a spot for me immediately.
So, no new job, I'm at the old one. Just a little more happier than I was before.

Weather has cooled here. Mid 40s, windy, cloudy. Overnight, temperature is forecast to drop to +12 (F) degrees.
I might have to build a fire in the wood stove. That is the main heat source here.
