Crazy toothache. I've got an appointment on Monday, but that feels like forever away. Ibuprofen 800mgs, warm salt water and listerine will all be your friends. Cut up some raw onion, really fine, and hold it in your mouth around that tooth. Sounds odd, but it works for me.

I'll get onto the ibuprofen. I thought that 400mg is the highest you could take at a time, though. I'll try the onion too... I'll try anything.

Well actually in the 1930s dust bowl all the smart Texacans moved to California this angered the much slower Texacans who were to slow in the head to realize you cant live in a land blowing dust and no rain. This lead to both states making fun or one another for years to come. If you don't believe Texacans live in California you have never been to Bakersfield the official capitol of Tejas west of the Pecos. The main reason that people talk slower in Tejas is so the natives can keep up. One last thing the BBQ in Tejas sucks and the beaches are ugly and got no waves. Well the beaches do have waves when the hurricanes hit so I take that back. Well, Bakersfield obviously wasn't good for anything but dumping the trash.

I'd rather hit my finger with a hammer than have a tooth ache.

Early voting today, cold North wind, we vote at small school,my Dad attended, he as a child did not like the principal, milk was delivered in small glass jars for noon meal, he went in principals office and took the top off, scraped chalk dust in it, put top back on and waited. While principal was eating lunch and drinking milk Dad entered and asked how his milk tasted, kind of chalky was the answer, Dad said I poisoned you, principal gagged, threw up, after that it was all down hill for Dad, worse when he got home, to the students he was a hero.

Interesting map. I see I am on the Texas side of the Rio Grande border. Suits me. I see that much of Sonora and Baja are included with the California Republic. Llano is an apt name for that state on the north.

I had met Sheriff Richard Mack briefly some years back for a few minutes, and ran into him at a function 3 weeks ago and he invited me to the CSPOA that at the time I did not realize was the same day as the pipe club meeting. Sheriff Mack successfully sued the Clinton administration over the assault weapon ban and prevailed at the supreme court. Sheriff Hamilton of Sierra County (Truth Or Consequences New Mexico) Chatted it up with Sheriff Tony Mace of Cibolo county New Mexico when we broke for lunch...white shirt. Stuart Rhodes who founded the Oathkeepers, Sheriff Dar Leaf from Barr county Mi, Sheriff Mark Daniels of Cochise county Az, police Chief Loren Culp Republic Wa.......several others. They are committed to upholding the constitution, realizing that it is their job to protect their constituency from criminals and the federal government when it overreaches by passing unconstitutional laws. The Sheriff is the Supreme law enforcement officer within their jurisdiction, above the governor, Attorney general, even the president. Some amazing stories of what has taken place in some of their lives...Cartel members sending a hit squad into the US to kill Daniels and his son, Brad Rogers who the feds threatened to incarcerate because he was interfering with the feds who were harassing an Amish farmer selling raw milk to people that wanted it...etc....too many crazy stories to mention. cspoa.org/sop/

Days are flying by, the kiddo is six months old as of the 9th of this month. Already wearing twelve month old clothes sleeping through the night, and on the fast track to being toilet-trained. He has been signaling us by slapping his diaper on his hip or just grunting and reaching for his antique wooden toilet chair, pretty sweet development I must say. Just Dad Braggin! I'm already so proud to be his Papa. Legend Lover hope your tooth situation gets resolved.

Spent the morning getting the camper winterized and closed up for the season. Had some frost and was cold but is nearing 60 already. Just got home and will watch my Browns get their butts kicked by the Seahawks.

Heading out to split more kindling, "Palitos" as known here in northern New Mexico. A palito is any small stick including a toothpick or a clothespin. I will be splitting mostly Ponderosa Pine because of its flammable resin content.

Per the Sheriff's Association there are fewer elected Sheriffs with law enforcement duties than serve with duties such as court security, process serving warrants and court orders, prisoner housing and prisoner transport. It depends upon the laws of each county jurisdiction. Even within the duties of enforcing laws among the public, Sheriffs are limited by the US and state constitutions. They are subject to their state attorney generals and in some cases their Governor. They certainly are subordinate to the POTUS, Attorney General of the United States.

Don't ever mess with a game warden they don't answer to anyone. Don't ever mess with a Federal Marshal, Don't ever mess with a Texas Ranger, and before they call in the feds don't ever mess with a Sheriff. Words to live by so you don't treated like a King.

My point was that the sheriff is answerable to his constituents that voted him into office, and only they are responsible for hiring or firing him...and they are not answerable to the federal executive branch whoever it is. If they see unconstitutional action taking place even if passed by the legislature, or a crafty worded law that fools some of the people some of the time that is passed by initiative, and they take part in enforcing it, they void their oath. The Dred Scott decision passed constitutional muster at the highest court of the land, but I would support any Sheriff that would refuse to honor that decision. I am not talking about some weird interpretation of constitutional law, just a common sense reading along with an ability to read what the founders meant can really draw any clouds back...It does not take a degree in constitutional law to make the distinction...that is the beauty of it all.
You either swear an oath to support the constitution, or you lie with gritted teeth while you perform your elected duties...it is just too bad that so many politicians immediately forget the oath, and sadder still that a dumbed down populace would keep pulling the lever for them.
That is my point...more often than not, a Sheriff that has to answer to a local constituency gets it...A federal agent with layers of unelected bureaucrats above them have no such constraints...we saw it with ruby Ridge, Waco, Hurricane Katrina, Fast and Furious...no accountability for unconstitutional actions...they are quietly rewarded with promotions and in the case Of F&F shuttled off to DC for deep cover and a huge effort to cover up anything that would leak upward.
If a Sheriff did that he would be run out of town on a rail and (rightly) prosecuted.
