Yeah, there are a lot of blind curves in the hills 2-lanes with rock on one side and a 500 foot drop off on the other. Idiots wander out of their lane and there is no way to get out of the way. Luckily, car traffic is usually light compared to the number of motorcycles on the weekends, and I prefer to ride the 3 Sisters (Ranch Roads #s 335,336,and 337. Plus you have TX 16 which has some of the scariest curves. Last time I was there I was with Frankie and his brother Mike. Spent a week riding these roads and it never gets old. Wrecks get very old very fast.

I recently purchased this for my shop. Reminds me of Frog Morton. I have one tin left - Frog Morton on the Bayou. My favorite was Frog Morton on the Town. adorable! Bayou was my favorite. I have a tin of On the Town, I think, but don't smoke it.

Just got an update on Frankie : "We are here he is awake right now. Has a lot of stitches in his face. His leg is basically mangled from the knee down and some toes are ground off. Surgery is tomorrow sometime. They are taking more x- rays right now. Car came into their lane and hit head on. He saw it coming and was nearly stopped. Will update tomorrow." oh wow! he is in my prayers

Today dad my last Sunday at my church before moving to the North coast. I decided to break open 5 brothers. It's good stuff but I can tell it's strong. I'm not feeling any nic hit but I can tell by the taste.
I've never seen a finer cut. It was like loading my pipe with shredded wheat.
I also saw a great deal on a savinelli 141 for £29. Might get it as a 'congratulations on your new job' present to myself...to mark the occasion.

What a great day yesturday. I was finishing up my normal Saturday errands and the gasket between my engine and vtec solenoid blew. I lost all of my oil in the matter of seconds. I just spent the morning cleaning oil, now waiting on my part to show up at the parts store.
Wife's battery wont hold a charge, so that's getting replaced too.

I dont mind working on the car, but I do mind when things suddenly go. It's only 3 bolts, 1 gasket, and some oil to fix my car, just waiting on the part to make it to the store. My wife's battery isnt even 2 years old yet, it has a 6 year warranty. Of course the place we bought it from is closed today. I'll be down within the next few days, I have 3 lbs of tobacco down there waiting for me, you have 2 lbs + some other things up here.

About 46 degrees with wind howling out of the north. Cold enough to keep me indoors.

Frankie is out of the first of many surgeries. They reconstructed the bones in his face and sealed it up with over 150 stitches. All of the muscle was stripped off his leg and he is 90% likely to be amputated. He was hit by a Corvette in a group of Corvettes that were racing. The guy who hit him was watching the line of Vetts he was passing instead of the road in front of him. He will never own another Corvette. In fact, the lawyers are going after the entire club. Frankie is going to have to have a lot more surgeries and he deserves the very best prosthetic leg that money can buy. I am very pissed today.

No excuse for the driver of the Corvette...prayers for Frankie's recovery and his future...and yeah, I, too, would go after the club...more than likely that it was their sponsorship that created this situation. Put away the shelter for the generator I had out and ready to use in case of power outage from the presence of the tropical storm that wasn't.

Don't get me started about Corvette owners.
Seriously, I am sorry to read about Frankie but he will survive!!!
Sounds like a prosthetic leg replacement. Man that sucks.
The Corvette Club, at least the participants in the race, need to pay up. I see too many of those road races up here and it is always miraculous no one is killed. Last time it was a collection of drivers from, yep, Texas. Driving Porsches, Ferraris, and other wild looking and very expensive cars on both sides of my highway racing north from Taos to Colorado, I guess. They come here to cause mayhem on our roads because they cannot get away driving like that in Texas. We do not have enough law enforcement to begin dealing with races like that.

I admit that I would love to be able to drive a really fast car on the highway that goes to Eagles Nest. Of course you can see the road for 80 miles ahead. I got the trike up to 90 on that road.

Glad that it was not a hit and run for your nephew Ron...the driver might have screwed up royally, but at least people will be held responsible. Hopefully if prosthetic's is the new reality, better below the knee than above it.
