51 now with mist and a steady breeze got back from my walk cleaned up and put on PJ's I got on sale last year. Turned on the electric heater in the bedroom to silent and got the fake fireplace going. Also have on my good sheepskin slippers. Now 51 might not sound cold to some folks but us swamp dwellers endure 90 degrees 90% of the time. No critters stirring in the forest not even birds I suppose they are all bedded down and staying dry. Called a friend in Amarillo he says it is 22 up his way, not surprised the only thing between the North Pole and Amarillo is a strand of barbed wire.

Heck of a cold front blew through San Antonio last night. Just short of a tropical storm wind. An inch of rain was washing away barriers to flooded intersections. Beautiful cool morning.

Back to the room from the hospital. Frankie slept almost all day. Woke up long enough to be bathed and take a dump. These are good signs. The few moments he was alert he seemed to be getting back to himself. No pipe on this trip. No cigar for Frankie so it's only fair. Best wishes for Frankie. Just received word that a young man I have known here since his High School days and is now in his mid-thirties with a wife and family has cancer. He is undergoing chemo and radiation, lost half his body weight, looks like a zombie. Hate it when tragedy strikes the young.

Back home in Humble. Frankie was sitting up eating and alert when we left. He is still going to have a couple of surgeries. The doctor didn't show up today, but he is supposed to make a determination tomorrow.

Somebody from the church knows a lawyer, maybe.

Bob Grossman (713) 655-7654 he has a office in Humble and was voted top ten in Texas at one time. But I will say this the limits of liability in Tejas are very low and the outcome is not going to be what one would desire. Bob is not a TV lawyer but as lawyers go he will honest and up front and dispel illusions of big payouts. Frankie is going to need some very expensive medical work and it will max out his insurance as well the party he is wishing to find at fault. Sorry to be Debbie Downer but the twooth is the truth.

Based on your reports I figured personal injury attorney's would be lined up outside his door. I tried Googling the accident but didn't find anything but ads for lawyers. A friends adult son cleared over a million in an auto accident but he kept his leg for now. They got him a Lawyer on retainer.

The "Friends from church" seem to be in charge. Frankie's brother and SIL who should be handling this are sitting back. Their main concern is that they just paid $800 in eBay gift cards for a 26 foot travel trailer in South Dakota. When the seller requested another 800 for shipping insurance and we voiced our suspicions we were ridiculed. They spent Thursday at the credit union, the police and the FBI, all of which told them that they were SOL. ππ€―π€

Yesterday is was so incredibly, swirlingly windy here in Vancouver, BC that not only were all the leaves knocked off the trees they were blown out to the curb or circulated in corners into neat piles.

got our running around done. went grocery shopping, had lunch at the chinese buffet, went to Lowe's and picked up a couple of clamps to help weigh down hubby's photo backdrop, then went in search of apple cider. couldn't find sweet cider or hard cider that meets hubby's standards. we did pick up a bavarian beer, hopefully it is good.

I've missed you guys. Unpacking a house is hard work. We're nearly done. Off to bed now.
My new pipe arrived and I almost had a bowl, but just as I was about to start someone came to the door... Maybe next year.
