All weapons are legal in Tejas except for ICBM but we should get that passed next year. Yeah but, can we conceal carry?

well, hubby's work computer died on Tuesday. He turned it on first thing in the morning and was busy getting paperwork done and didn't have a chance to get to it until 2pm and there was a black screen. He tried everything, nothing happened. He took it over to help desk and they said, It's dead. Either the motherboard or the CPU went out, the hard drive was fine, so he at least was able to retrieve everything. He said he was over there yesterday for something and saw they were gutting it. Right now he's trying to edit and upload photos that officers waited until the last minute to have done, they weren't happy he didn't have his work computer, the process now takes 10x longer. He got 2 days worth of comp time from working last weekend and is taking it next week (he has to take it before next pay period) and his supervisor left him a print job to do (because heaven forbid he give up any of his leave time to finish his work) hubby has to research and tell help desk which new computer he wants, he has two travel jobs he has to get finished up and submit the requests for. And an officer called yesterday wanting a photo next week (hubby didn't have any time slots open) hubby told him he wouldn't be in and the guy said, can't you just slip me in (they seem to think there are magical moments of time that can be pulled out of someone's butt) to which hubby told him again, a little more firmly that he wasn't going to be in the office next week. Then the guy wanted him to come in on the weekend of Dec. 6 to accomodate him and hubby told him he had plans for that weekend that were not changeable, that it would result in a loss of money. He was like, Well what do I do? Hubby wanted to tell him, don't wait until the last minute -- especially when the last minute is around holidays *smh* As it is, hubby may have to go in tomorrow to finish the print job so he doesn't have to go in on Monday. It will mean more comp time, but that is okay.
I will be going out about lunch time to spend the rest of the day with him. I will probably take my computer so I can listen to music in case he starts grumbling and smacking the Mac he is using on loan, lol.

Yeah but, can we conceal carry? Yes but open carry is legal in case you want to dress up like Tom Mixx.

Pain is a terrible thing my friends. Whether it be physical or mental or emotional. I wish you all the best an if I could I'd take all of you good peoples pain into myself. Good Luck to all!

I am sorry that you are going through a pain spell just hang in there it gets better. You might try Cymbalta it raises serotonin levels to help you better cope with pain. Also try not to tell yourself it hurts as it can make it worse. I normally don't take any pain meds but it took a long time to get to that place. In my prayers.

Sorry you are having to go through this...I remember it well...it went on for months, but after a while, the pain meds will finally ease the misery that you have...unfortunately, you will have to stay on the pain meds, as I have. With them life gets bearable, but just. Prayers for you brother Scrooge, to hopefully recover or at least to be able to manage. Beautiful sunny day...70° here in central north Florida...been trying to reach my brother whom I haven't heard from in about a year...different lives and I guess animosity has taken its toll.

Ditto on the Shopping Cart/Walker at the market. The problem for me is getting there. With my old Ford truck I have to park way out in the lot as we do not fit in the tiny slots up close. So, I have to walk a long ways before a cart can be found. Hence the cane. There is a slot in front of Smith's Food and Drug Store, "Reserved for Senior Citizen" but it is always occupied. There is also a number parking spots for the the so-called "Handicapped". While there are some who clearly need it, I see too many spiritedly moving folks getting in and out of those cars. I notice they do not have the plate but the card hanging from the mirror. I wonder how authentic those cards are sometimes when I see the occupants. For example, NM license plate but a Handicapped card from Kansas.

I have been keeping a cane in the truck for the past 12 years. The last couple of years I haven't needed it since I lost the 30 pounds and started moving around more. Until this week. 😣👹 I needed it today when I went to talk to the lawyer, but I forgot it in the truck. At least I looked the part as I walked in the office. 😜 I like the lawyer. Young guy who had my late friend as a professor in law school. I signed the papers and he spent 2 hours talking me through how things work. I go to the pain management center tomorrow, (I don't actually have to take them), then the chiropractor who treats James Hardin. 😁👍. The insurance offered me 12700 for my truck. Lawyer said that I should take it and we will make it up on the injury claim. At least I don't have to fake it, but I sure hope it's fixable. Otherwise, no more walking, hiking, fixing up the shop, etc. I will have to get into soaps. Maybe I will practice my Spanish and watch the telenovelas. don't knock soapmaking! we thoroughly enjoyed making soap when we lived in PA, and did pretty well at it, but didn't transition so well to WV, they are 20 years behind everyone else, so we were ahead of our time. Now everyone is making soap, but it's the melt and pour. We made ours from scratch, because hubby likes playing chemist. Not that kind of soap! 😁😈🤠

I have found that a distraction really helps. I listen to audio books and it takes enough of my concentration to keep me from thinking about how much it hurts.

I have been called out for walking well after parking in a handicap space. I explained that I was good for the first 100 yards, but after that I was going to be hurting so much that I could barely walk. As my condition improved I used it less and less, until I didn't bother to renew it this year. And, of course, I really need it now. You can't always see how people are handicapped. People with heart disease often look fine at first, but run out of steam quickly. They may be in great pain and not showing it. I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt rather than shoot them.

I got my neighbor and son to help me pick up my camper, so that's done. Now I have to pick a truck that I can afford that fits under it.

And it is affordable. Camper won't work with the boxes on the fenders.

My advice is if someone parks in the Handicapped space, someone had damn well better look to be handicapped in some way. Old and infirm people obtain the requisite license plate and then loan the vehicle to their kids to run errands for them. I see people in their early 30/late 20s with a herd of kids heading into the store. Naturally, I also see plenty of people in wheel chairs, on walkers and canes. They obviously need the proximity.

I want to get those decals/stickers that have the super adhesive on them, the ones that takes single edge razor blades to get off, so that I can slap on their front windshield. There was a video about one city that allowed disabled people to write tickets in the big store parking lots to blatant offenders.

That's true and people abuse that all the time. However, some may look ok, but may not be. We park in disabled spot and we walk into the shop fine, but could be waking out carrying a paralysed daughter. Most of the time we take the wheelchair, so people know that we're not abusing the space, but sometimes we don't. However, we have a child with a one in a million condition... Those who abuse the system are many more than that.

Isn't it ironic that in the jogging age, so many people are so determined to get as close as possible to the main door?

I see these young people with kids piling out of their car in the Handicapped Parking slot and wonder why that is. Certainly clear enough for people on walkers and wheel chairs. I hobble along on my cane watching this and always wondering why.

It always angered me when I saw that. Then I had a disabled child and now it infuriates me.

I park at the back reaches of most lots. I need the exercise anyway and it reduces door dings on my truck.

I can't post a Like to those photos, Ron. That's just sick (and I don't mean that in modern parlance).
