That's BS! They dont HAVE to charge what they do, they choose to. Sure there's overhead, but my last few visits have averaged out over $1000 per hour. That's 20-30 minute visits are 450-550 per visit. Yup, just over $1,000 per hour @$7,400 What you were quoted. Let’s say for granted his out of pocket expenses are $1,000 ( which it’s not ) that’s $6,400 dollars profit for under 6 hours of total work. The price to see a dentist has been getting out of hand for the past 10 years....is there no stop to these outrageous prices! Interesting article: is your dentist ripping you off!!!

Good read. That's the thing with my case. I like this dentist, his office, and the people that work there. We discussed everything before hand and I knew what the plan was. It was just a hideous bill, but I expected it to be.
I tried a different dentist when we first moved here. He was terrible. One of my fillings came out within 6 months and I know many many people in the are that have had the same issues. I tried a different dentist here as well. They were higher priced and did a half assed job at best.
I like my dentist now. Hes done an outstanding job on my mouth and I'm extremely grateful for that. I lived with pain in my mouth for the last 10 years. I learned to deal with it. Once the worst problems were taken care of, and I no longer had the pain, I realized just how much it effected me.
I just hated the bills but I'd do it all over again.

My exact thoughts everytime they told me the total. And still need to have 3 root canals redone on my front teeth. I caught a rock in the mouth when I was about 10, knocked 3 teeth out. The root canals from 25 years ago are "failing." Grand total for 3 root canals and new porcelain crowns: $7400 .... one day... On a better note, i just went through and arranged my tobacco between cellar and smoking. I'm pretty sure I have enough tobacco already for the next 5 years, if not more. Also, I have a lot of jars that I'm currently smoking which are almost empty. That means there is room for MORE! You and Ronv69 need to look into medical tourism to Mexico. Our dentists are as good as any and a lot cheaper. Some US insurance companies even cover your health bill here.

I have thought about it, but a woman I worked with had a couple of disastrous surgeries in Mexico. I would at least go all the way to DF if I was to try it. Scared of the border town doctors.

Yeah, you'd need to shop around a bit to find the best. You could try the ABC private hospital system or several others in DF, Guadalajara, or Monterrey. They have a very good reputation.

Hearing this talk about dentists makes me glad of the NHS. My visits are about the same price as a tin of tobacco.

Another rainy day here in north Fla. Been raining here for going on 2 weeks every day. Not good for these old bones or for Mrs. cardinal with her 2 fledglings...wish I could cover them somehow. Me and MissElli looking out at the rain...wish I could teach her how to smoke a pipe...cob of course. She would look cute puffin.

Yesterday Audrey had enough awareness to realize what happened and how badly injured she is. Very bad night last night. Blood pressure and heart rate all over the place. In surgery now to replace the chest tubes and other housekeeping.

I’ve kept 4 candles lit for Audrey, after sundown tonight I will light another along with a Prayer. Day by day, she will get better not only with God’s help, Audrey needs to understand and realize the consequences of drinking way to much alcohol. Once she’s back on her feet Audrey will need proper guidance.....NOT A SCREAMING MATCH!! I’m sure you understand what I’m saying.

Ugh... worked all day and felt a little off. Got home and quickly realized why. 102.8 temp. I looked forward to a pipe when I got home but just cant bring myself to do it. It has to wait.
Violent shakes if I'm not under covers, freezing to death. I had a 20oz coke this morning and that was it. I know that's long gone now. Cant keep anything down at all. It's too damn hot to be wearing a sweat shirt in south Georgia in AUGUST.
I'm miserable.
end of my whining. I hope you a had a great day.

They were pretty lax in raising her. Her brother hit bottom and got his self straight. It's not an ideal family. If I was married to Vicky I would have fed her into a wood chipper decades ago. But my wife likes her, and I like her husband and kids.

Well I finally got some sleep and now I'm able to hold water down. That was a very rough 12 hours. Time for a 1 am bowl.
Ps I took today off (Friday) anyway. Boss was pissed and said "I dont give sick days." My reply was "I really dont give a s__t, see you monday."
Finally getting my drivers license back after 16 years. Cant wait because then I'm working for myself.

Glad you're feeling better. That heat just sucks. The rain started here about a week ago and hasn't really stopped. Temps are around 53F and we're back to what we know best.

Glad you took the day off and seem to be feeling much better👍 Sixteen years is a long time to go without a drivers license, don’t answer ( you don’t want it in writing...lol ) but I’m sure you were still getting around!! Work for yourself and you’ll make at least twice what your making now. Good luck👍👍👍

I have more experience than my boss and the other guy put together. I've been doing this since I was 16 years old.
The drivers license was because of 2 duis when I was younger. Stupid I know. I could have got it back many many years ago, but if I would have, I'm sure I would have got a 3rd. I finally quit drinking and when I was 100% sober for a year I got my stuff together and have been forging ahead.
Not feeling great today, but much better for sure.
