I have more experience than my boss and the other guy put together. I've been doing this since I was 16 years old. The drivers license was because of 2 duis when I was younger. Stupid I know. I could have got it back many many years ago, but if I would have, I'm sure I would have got a 3rd. I finally quit drinking and when I was 100% sober for a year I got my stuff together and have been forging ahead. Not feeling great today, but much better for sure. It seems the decisions of the past have made you wiser today. That was a very selfless thing you did. Credit to you.

just FYI, going to the cabin this weekend, no internet service, so i'll check back with y'all on Monday evening. We will be driving out to the State Fair Grounds Saturday morning to drop off my crochet exhibit entry. There will be a judging with prizes. I've got my fingers crossed. This is the blanket I'm taking....

Lady M, enjoy your mini-vacation at your cabin. Your crochet work from what I can see in the picture looks beautiful. I wish you well with your entry in the contest. I don’t believe in using the phrase “ good luck “ because what you created is a work of Art...not luck!! That should be under glass and hung on a wall, handed down for future generations of other Lady M’s 👍👍👍

My wife is skilled like that...me...just fumble fingers with no talent.

Walt, to this day I still enjoy working with my hands. Working on another pipe for myself as well as a few more tampers. I need too also keep busy when feeling half way decent, I’d go crazy here!!!

Bumping this thread until @cosmicbobo gets back from visiting neighboring star systems. I spent all weekend working which worries me as I know that its easy for me to fall into bad habits like that. I was fortunate enough to see my brother's new apartment today which is oddly smaller and more expensive than his previous one three streets over but he seems happy. My sister's attempts to get my nephew to stop eating odd things at school is improving and I'm happy to report that papalo leaves are keeping that mouth busy throughout the school day for now. It's a slightly bitter leaf so I'm surprised he's latched on to it for now. It's been a wonderfully rainy sunday and I'm anxious to hear over the course of the week whether my latest academic article will be accepted as I feel that the abstract might be a little grandeous in its claims. In any case I need to start thinking up something new or at least a new experiment for old ideas. In any case it seems like there is a lot of overlap between economic geography, border studies, and urban development models worth exploring in case any one has an idea they'd be willing to let me swipe.

In any case it seems like there is a lot of overlap between economic geography, border studies, and urban development models worth exploring in case any one has an idea they'd be willing to let me swipe. I hope your article gets accepted. I've been part of an article that's just been accepted in a journal, but there were a few that weren't interested. However, for me there was no anxiety, because as a crystallographer at the time, all I did was run the crystal sample and process the data - I never wrote any of the article (thankfully). The other reason is cos I've changed careers at least 3 times since then. That said, having been in the mix when I WAS in research, it's a nerve-wracking time. A lot of journals are picky. I wish you every success. Today it's raining (again). Wife worked last night so I'm having to entertain the girls whilst working at home, which sometimes doesn't always go according to plan. There's no chance of a pipe in this weather, but that's ok. Oh, and I'm going private to see about my throat.

Did you gargle with warm salt water 3 times a day??? You should be feeling better by now!!! I did, and it kinda seemed to help, but it's still there. My theory now is that since after the blue/green algae incident, I was coughing blood a couple of times, I wonder was my throat so irritated that it was bleeding and since then it has healed, but what I'm left with is some scar tissue. Anyway, the ENT consultant is on holiday so on 22nd I'll hopefully know better.

Today's turned out a bit different than expected. Currently in A&E with my youngest daughter. She may have broken her ankle. Eek.

Good morning, all. Day is already hot and humid...temp at 102. No rain for the day which will make it even hotter. Good day to stay inside with the A/C blowing and me smokin.

You can do a study on Houston on how a small real estate development with unlimited land and no rules can get completely out of control.

This is the blanket I'm taking.... I lived with my aunt and her 3 girls for a year when I was nine. There were no boys in the area, which was way out in the sticks in Spring, Tx. I learned to crochet because they were all doing it. I was very talented. I could make a round doily, or a square doily.

Audrey still needs the surgery on her back, but she's been running a fever for several days. Still fighting the vent, and they have to keep her sedated and restrained because she has karate kicked 2 nurses. I am glad I just have the one son.

Ron, she’s still in detox, will take some time. Hopefully once she gets through this trauma she’ll open her eyes and realize just how she effected other lives, as well as her own! I wish her and her family all the best.
