Thanks guys. It was just soft tissue damage, thankfully. Thanks for your prayers and well wishes. Great news. Ice for a few days the alternate ice and heat just don't go immediately from one to the other. Give the tissue time to rebound. Thanks. I see your avatar hasn't changed.

I need to start thinking up something new or at least a new experiment for old ideas. In any case it seems like there is a lot of overlap between economic geography, border studies, and urban development models worth exploring in case any one has an idea they'd be willing to let me swipe. You can do a study on Houston on how a small real estate development with unlimited land and no rules can get completely out of control. What's the angle; the history of Houston? Cities with zoning vs those without zoning?

Cities with zoning vs those without zoning? Could be. There's no zoning here at all. We have a at least three downtowns and businesses in every neighborhood. I have never lived in a zoned city so I can't say that the difference would be obvious to me. But there's the over building in the flood plains, the developers always getting what they want whether it's good for the city or not.

just FYI, going to the cabin this weekend, no internet service, so i'll check back with y'all on Monday evening. We will be driving out to the State Fair Grounds Saturday morning to drop off my crochet exhibit entry. There will be a judging with prizes. I've got my fingers crossed. This is the blanket I'm taking.... This is beautiful! how much time is required to create such a wonderful work of art? Thank you! I'm really bad about keeping track of how much time I spend on things, my goal is to get it done, lol. I don't really have an hour amount I can give, but depending on how much "spare" time I might have it would take me about three months to do this. This particular one took 20 weeks, but it was because i was only getting a small section of the pattern each week and would have to wait until the following week to continue to the next part. Now that I have the complete pattern I can work at my own speed, which is a little faster than that, unless things come up, This one was done with baby yarn, if I use a thicker yarn the blanket ends up being a bit bigger, and that would probably take about four months, larger rounds take longer to complete, so it adds a bit of time.

Lady M, enjoy your mini-vacation at your cabin. Your crochet work from what I can see in the picture looks beautiful. I wish you well with your entry in the contest. I donβt believe in using the phrase β good luck β because what you created is a work of Art...not luck!! That should be under glass and hung on a wall, handed down for future generations of other Lady Mβs πππ thank you very much! it was like leaving my child at day care for the first time when I dropped this off at the fair. It was all folded up so I didn't get to see anyone's reaction to the whole thing. the lady did comment "lovely colors" I have no idea when I will know anything. I presume the judging will take place before the Fair starts on Wednesday. i probably won't know until I pick it up on August 20. Nothing like pins and needles for two weeks!

This is the blanket I'm taking.... I lived with my aunt and her 3 girls for a year when I was nine. There were no boys in the area, which was way out in the sticks in Spring, Tx. I learned to crochet because they were all doing it. I was very talented. I could make a round doily, or a square doily. making doilies are quite the accomplishment. working with that thread can be tricky. hubby also learned to do a couple crochet stitches as a child, his older cousin was learning and she taught him. he never made anything, though.

Hey everyone, I've been low profile for a few days, not posting much. Been wrapped up in spreadsheets and property sales and tax info research. Prepping for a court hearing for an ongoing property tax appeal I've had going for a long time. The county seems to think I live in Versailles palace, and the lawyer research is either too expensive or haphazard. Jeez, it can cost 200 bucks to ask a lawyer what time it is.

Thanks for the words and DM's all. Not sure I am fully with it, which, for me, means qualified to post. Xuan and I have both been ill, which has made things around here less than functional. While the Reticulans have been burning Mlork Sticks in prayer for me, the Pleiadians have been shooting spitwads at me at light speed. The litter fargers are stuck in my beard. Extraterrestrial Humor "ain't" what it used to be.
