Little Thor was neutered yesterday so we've been taking things easy. He's on the mend, doing as well as can be expected and we'll hopefully be able to get back to our regular walking regiment Sunday. The break was perhaps timely for daddy as well. I've had some issues with my left hip which feels better this morning. My chiropractor wants to order an MRI when I go for my annual VA physical in December. After surgeries on my left knee, both shoulders and spine over the years, I'm confident I know where this is going, just not looking forward to it much. Advisors I consider reputable are now advising to take profits on FAANG, an acronym largely credited to Mad Money host Jim Cramer, for Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Nextflix and Google. FAANG has been the ox hauling the cart on the current bull market which traces its roots back to 2009, third best in history thus far. It's enjoyed a 50% ROI which thumps the S&P 19% over the same timeframe. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out if investors sour on FAANG in search of better value. Big horse races Saturday are at Arlington Park in Chicago. I was there in 1995 when Awad swept wide from last to first to win the Arlington Million over heavily favored Sandpit and cashed in huge that day. I bet the exacta cold and also had to sign off on a W2-G at the window to collect my earnings which doesn't happen very often. That was before the Internet and on-line wagering when the live experience was best. Good times. Breeders' Cup is back at Churchill Downs this year and I'll be there. I'm starting to organize some tax documents together for this year today. It's never too early to get ahead of the game on that one. After retiring, I've normally been able to have things waiting for the normal forms which is sweet compared to having to scramble for them in the wee hours while working. Enjoy your pipes. I hope you are pleasantly surprised after the MRI.

Without proper sleep oneβs body will never heal properly! In the past 72 hours I slept less then 5 hours. Need to leave @ 8:30am for an appointment so it makes no sense to try and sleep until tonight. I surely hope that Audrey is on a good sleep aid while still in the hospital.

She's out 98% of the time. When she's awake, she freaks out from the pain and knowing her condition.

If the doctors are keeping her heavily sedated itβs for her own good, sheβd be in serious pain most likely. Letβs hope and Pray in two weeks Audrey is feeling much better ππππππππππππ

I hope you are pleasantly surprised after the MRI. Mark, God bless and be with your hip spine issues. It's good you keep after it. I had leg pain for a long time and eventually I broke it just getting out of a chair. Good on getting Thor neutered. Most places here won't let a puppy be adopted without them being neutered, even if they are less than 8 weeks old. Going to have to start looking up the races again, so glad you posted them here. Thanks... David

Prayers will be continued for Audrey. Must be terrible for her to wake up and know her condition, but prayer can do some amazing things. I'm living (well almost) proof.

Chroniclers, Scroogy would probably kill me for posting this, but this is the one forum he doesn't read, so we're safe. Rules of it being Hush Hush, Definitely Down Low, on the QT, and Strictly Confidential do apply. I got to know #6 when he had just had a knee operation. He's had an issue with both his legs, mentioned to me recently. I really don't know anymore, but hope we can keep him in our thoughts and prayers along with Audrey (and family and friends). David

We started moving furniture in the bedroom today, getting ready for a new king size bed to replace the old queen. (sized bed, that didn't so right) Had to move a HUGE armoire and a few smaller pieces. Yesterday I had to re-hang a large Ikea cube - shelf that's been on the office wall for years. Pulled out the mollie bolts. I put it back with 6 large steel angle brackets and 40 big screws into the studs. At 67 years and 11 months, I am really getting too old for this crap. This work will continue as I am able for the foreseeable future. Karen fell over the vacuum cleaner cord trying to vacuum around the stack of stuff and is now taking a therapeutic bath. She's feeling her age too. Our son slept through all the excitement.

Valerie, a neighbor, is asking for prayers tonight. She's going in for multiple spine injections tomorrow and she's scared. Later tonight Valerie will be in my Prayers. If itβs a radiologist that specializes in spine injections he/she will numb the spine prior to her spinal injections. Believe me, I know! If the Dr cares enough about causing unnecessary pain to the patient a fluoroscope should be used, this way the Dr can locate the area in question and inject the Meds much more accurately. Valerie needs to question the doctor thatβs doing this procedure. She needs to lay still for a while after the procedure or she can get a severe headache. Iβve had 3 lumbar punctures ( known as a spinal tap ) in the past four years....one of them was done by a BUTCHER of a doctor. The other 2 I suffered with no pain, just a bit of pressure was all I felt.
