After a day of crappy Net Connection, there were some joys. I think it was zambini who pointed out my love of Sutliff Matches. Received today and smoked: Sutliff Nightcap Match - I rate this 90% of the original. It has the same sort of tang to it. Match Hine's - Really good. Match Troost - I may have oversmoked by then, it seemed like a total Cluster-F of dragon wings and bat guano Lane - Virginia - Forgot what the other description was We Three Kings - Third try on this. Did not arrive today. About a year old. It was very spicy. I thought it had a touch of floral. I didn't believe my own taste buds, so I looked up a review by JimInks The Man From I.N.K.S. and sure enough, he caught the floral, too I Think I had more, looking at the number of pipes in front of me that need cleaning Most notice I am don't smoke English as much. I was really impressed with the Sutliff Nightcap. Started out the day with Curry Chicken and ended up with Sesame Pancakes. Mel's sounds good, DramatwistAlmost done watching the movie Warlock with Fonda, Widmark, The Mighty Quinn, a young Frank Gorshin, an old Wallace Ford, and the ubiquitous Whit Bissel. Planted next to my butt much of the day was this beast:

Two underrated movies are on my list to watch this weekend. Eddie and the Cruisers and Eddie Lives. I never saw the second one until a few years ago. The first one totally defined Eighties Movies to me as much as The Breakfast Club, Stripes, and Gung Ho (which was timely as we were at war with Japan over imports). I just looked up some info online and a got a surprise. First, the band you may recall, was John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. He's still doing concerts, God bless him. His voice made him popular and out of fashion as his voice was always compared to Springsteen's. So, while glomming the IMDB for movie info it seems one technical director was Johnny Lyons. Name didn't strike me until I read which Johhny Lyons it was. Johnny of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Another one in the shadows of Springsteen, though they play together and use many of the same musicians. Southside Johnny is like peteguy Red Wine Soup. He's got a smoothness about him. Here is the studio (for good sound's sake) of him doing the sixties classic Walk Away Renee.

...Club Sandwich and fries at Mel's Diner today... Haven't been to a Mel's in about 25 years. I love their food, real Cherry, Vanilla, and Chocolate cokes. Wish there was one up here in Oregon.

Just lit up Sutliff Chocolate Truffle in my Sloop John B Watkins Cutty Ship of the Line. This may be the chocolate tobacco I have been looking for. Taste is on top, not an undertone.
Listening to Conspiracy Stuff already. May do Eddie and the Cruisers tonight.
Bully the Lionhearted is parked at my butt.
Coffee, muddy and sweet. Funny that I have a yen for straight up black coffee at the moment

Done with Coffee. Smoking C&D Red VA Cavendish from today's mail in a perfectly packaged SP Box Still listening to Conspiracy stuff. Will be trying to get back into studying Amateur Radio Rules, though that does not affect my Outlaw Radio.
This C&D RVC is pretty righteous stuff.

Watching the demolition of a bridge up river from where we are. We couldn't go see it so we found it on youtube. They built a new bridge next to it last year so time to demo the old.

That reminds me of my former life as Gomez Addams at the train set. Notice the sound delay as it had to travel what looks like a half mile to a mile.

I would have loved to have been there but it is about an hour away from our office. I work with the Illinois DOT and we thought we might get in trouble traveling that distance lol.

Still listening to Conspiracy stuff. Had a wonderful Gabbagool and Moozadell Sandwhich. Getting ready to light some Sutliff Red Ribbon in an unfinished Sav slight bend Canadian Billiard. Bully the Lionhearted is sitting by Xuan, who is going after all the Vietnamese Commies on YouTube. Not a joke. I am pissing people off on Twitter. I am officially blocked by Jake Tapper, an honor I wear proudly.
Edit - The thing with Red VA today is to find one to take over from McC, though I have never had a McC VA. Just wondering what the hoohah is all about

Waiting for Xuan to make some spaghetti with "gravy" while smoking 7 Seas Royal in a Mr. Brog #47 Kentucky Bent Pot with a stem left over from the days of pea shooters.
Watching news for a change.

Thanks david, for making me spend more money. Seriously, this sounds like an excellent smoke.

I mentioned a while back that I had some unfinished Savinellis that I put Olive Oil on: One after the first couple smokes and one before smoking. Made no difference, but here they are

My one and only Sav unfinished looks just about like that after a year of smoking. Guess I don't smoke it often enough.

A morning of fondling my tobacco jars trying to decide what to smoke while I figure out who is getting my money. Looks like troozt match is the winner since David brought if up, I used to love it years ago and 2 years ago I bought somematch and still have not cracked the jar ... Looks like the time is today for cracking the seal!

After a breakfast (which I don't normally eat) of Sesame Pancakes with orange syrup I am sitting (lying here) with Bully the Lionhearted pressed into my back, with a third of a pot of sweet, muddy coffee, smoking Grasmere Flake in a Brog Bent Pot. Getting the citrus, grass, and spicy notes. It's definitely a repeater (this was my first try). Could be all day, if you like this type. I would consider it more of an "I'm in rare form today and want something different" smoke. Wow, the spice is almost a tad clove. It gets better as the bowl goes down. A rarity.
Listening to? What else, Conspiracy, intel broadcasts.
