Tonights drink is Colkegan, Single Malt Whiskey! A good friend of mine turned me on to this brand. I have to say it's becoming one of my favorites in short order. Here is link to their website if your interested. Cheers! LINK: santafespirits.com/spirits/single-malt-whiskey

Since it is now "evening", a Wild Turkey Old Fashioned Cocktail. Fee Brothers' Bitters and Turbinado simple syrup.
Post Script: A fly just landed in my glass. I guess it was a good drink. Now starting over with a clean glass.

Hopefully, he is now using local barley for malt.

Looking forward to a glass of Bullet Bourbon myself. If I drink it after 5 I feel less guilty.

Looking forward to a glass of Bullet Bourbon myself. If I drink it after 5 I feel less guilty. Its always after five somewhere. Bulleit is a good drinking bourbon, IMO. My preference where I can choose. If I could build myself differently, I would make it that I could smoke and drink at the same time. But alas, alcohol rudes out my tongue when smoking and vice versa. So I have to pace it out. Perhaps this is a blessing in some way, forcing me to have discipline in areas where lack of discipline is dangerous.

Had the pleasure of tasting some Pappy Van Winkle 12 year while I was in New Orleans last week. That is the smoothest bourbon I have ever had.

I call it a dinner martini. Heavy on the olive juice, vodka, shaken not stirred, and a skewer with a couple of large stuffed olives, a nice chunk of aged cheese, and a nice size chunk of smoked summer sausage.
every sip gets better and better.

Wish I could drink spirits again, but with the meds I take it could be fatal...so this AM it is a short glass of prune juice...not what I call a good time, but sure beats passin' logs of concrete.

I saw a bottle of it at a local liquor store. It was a gift to the owner from one of his distributor/suppliers. I offered him as much as $18 for it.... He was not amused. Nor did he pull the cork to offer a snort.

A wee bit of 100 Proof Southern Comfort........another night of no sleep!! An IV of this might help! Liquor is contraindicated where sleep is disturbed, as I am sure you know. So, I need to confine my drinking to early evening and limit quantity. All of which is probably for the better. Brought home a bottle of Old Grand Dad, Bottled-in-Bond. My favorite Bourbon. Hard to find, one store sells it down Pojaque way. That is a Pueblo village about 100 miles south of me.

Thanks for that laugh. I'm sure the meds dont help in that department either. The things I get to look forward to later in life.....
