Pojoaque was a place that you just didn't go in 1979. However, Philomena's restaurant was on the main highway just a couple of miles out of town and it was the very best New Mexican Cuisine we ever had. If I can find her cookbook I need to get some. I still hear that about Mora, Cordova, and other villages. It really is not that unfriendly unless you are a Texas lawman with an out-of-state warrant for a local resident. Too many of them been in these parts over the past 160 years. The NM State Engineer would not come to my village without a State Police escort. People in Santa Fe are such panty waists. LOL! If an outsider is not comfortable in a community with people who speak another language and who look different, then they ought to stay where they are now. If someone has a good heart and lives without fear of others, come on by. Good food, beautiful country, nice people. Humility was always an important virtue here. Many outsiders and particularly those from a certain area of the country have this Boss attitude. They are self important people who expect everyone around them to jump when they say. New Mexicans have put up with that for a long time. Elfego Baca was one of the first who did anything about it. Stay cool. Stay loose. Be regular and you will be fine here. People coming here to fish or hunt with that outsider "Boss" attitude have been known to disappear and their vehicle found burned or wrecked miles away from where they were last seen.

I became distracted from my important mission. A large Whiskey Sour is now indicated. Wild Turkey 101, Simply Limeade, Fee Brothers Bitters, fresh squeezed lime juice, ice, shaken and poured.

I try to be nice to everyone. Back then it was full of drug manufacturers and dealers, etc. No body went there. One of the girls at the restaurant lived there and she was staying with my friends in Jemez Springs. And she was born there. Like South Chicago in Detroit on Halloween.

Today being my birthday, I poured a large measure of Old Overholt 100 proof Bottled-in-Bond for a night cap.
I was proud to have reached 68 until I heard the morning news. Elijah Cummings dead at 68.

"Mosside"? what kind of a name is that for a coastal village on the north coast of The Six Counties?
Should be something dramatic like "Smuggler's Cove". Well, make the best of it.

Mosside - from Scots moss side, meaning "peat-bog district" or "district beside the peat bog". - Wikipedia Looks nice, LL Legend Lover ! 👍 Hope your move goes smoothly tomorrow.
