I was using it to post photos as attachments. Now its gone. Something about storage space running out?

Quite possibly. From the mod's point of view, image hosting is the preferred option.

Yeah from my understanding the forum's attachment memory has basically ran up and so the best way around it now is to register with an image provided like imgur to post pictures and then post the link in your post. At least that is my understanding.

tinypic.com is free and is very easy to use; I've used this one for 7 or 8 years.

i use imgur and like it.
little known fact -- the owner of the forum pays for it's upkeep out of his pocket. we don't have ads, etc to cover the costs. using attachments will cause it to go over and cost him more money, so using a hosting site is really helping keep the cost down for him so we can continue to enjoy this site.

When you attach photos to the Forum, you are taking uyp space on the Forum servers. It's better to use an image hosting service. Like Lady Margaret, I use Imgur. Just upload your image there, and it will give you a URL to post.

So, I tried out that app too, Baboo... it doesn't give a proper image link. There is another app out there called Imgur that seems to give good links, the problem is in order to render on the site, you need to add the image tags to the link.
I'm working with our hosting provider to see if there is a way to make this all work. I'll update as soon as I have an answer.
Sit tight!

Imgur works very well, simply placing the cursor over the pic, you can copy.....what would be nice is if on the forum when you access the photo icon to paste the pic, if that address field didn’t automatically populate it with “http” and left it blank.

I use the imgur app to take pictures and the mobile site to pull links. On the actual mobile site the option for bbcode is present in the link dropdown of the image.

Using Imgur's mobile site is probably the best option. It provides the BB Code, which is what you need to post a picture if using the Patch mobile site.

When using Imgur make sure the link you copy and paste ends with .jpg. I’ve used Imgur for a couple of years with no issues. There is no charge for their service, unlike Photobucket that totally changed their policy.

I am not finding the dropdown code for posting, only a copy link. Can anyone here guide me through the process in dummy layman's terms? TU imgur.com/BgPy1pD

I'm going to create a step by step tutorial for Imgur, using only mobile.
I should have that up sometime today. Stay tuned.

Baboo Watch this short informative video on “ how to use Imgur when posting a link to a forum “. Good luck, hope this helps. The tutorial you linked to is only for desktop application (which I have been using for years), not mobile, which is my dead end conundrum. Thanks for trying to point the way!

Download the Imgur app on your IOS or Android device. Extremely simple to use, I do on my iPad.

BabooI’ve used Imgur for over 2 years. Just tried to post a picture after I copied and pasted the proper link after clicking on the picture tab above. NO picture showed up. So, it’s not only you!!! I will do some research and/or wait to read what Sparks posts. I’ve used Imgur prior on two other forums with no issues. I will follow this thread

Just tried again....I copied and pasted the url from Imgur and added text. Only the text showed up! Also, my url’s are ending with the proper .jpg I just posted a picture within another forum with no issues. Must be a trick we are both missing within this forum ......scratching my head.

If you're trying to show two pipes in a pic, I'm not seeing them.
