Not sure if you can call it a series but if I remember right it was broadcast over a few nights and now is being uploaded to youtube. Civil War "Andersonville" 1996 complete Original TV-Movie. Part One. Even seeing pipe smoking in it.

We started this series and, so far, it's pretty interesting ... different, for sure:

We started this series and, so far, it's pretty interesting ... different, for sure: A more cerebral show with some action but mostly story and character driven. I found it not bad at all and ends in an interesting way. Has me wondering about the second season.

I think that is a likely and fair assessment on your part, Andre. Screenwriters don't cater too much to Geezers. Wife and I are old and we liked it. But we're weird I guess. We're tired from laughing all day at the hospice with the dying BIL and the counselor.

We've been bingeing Fortitude on Prime. Kind of a mix of Fargo and The Thing. pretty good for the first season.

Stumbled on First Responders Live on Fox broadcast TV. Airs Tuesday 9:00-10:00 PM in my area. As COPS is now pay for view, it is a decent substitute for police/fire/EMT.

Watched on Amazon Streaming, Mothers Day, sad true story of a Family loseing their son to a bomb during the troubles in Ireland. Made me cry in one scene, won’t say anything about it so if you watch it, but it tore me up to a past experience. Paddy you probably know about it.

I've always regarded these depictions of The Troubles, to be Ireland's equivalent of our Westerns.

PBS - Thursday - 8:00PM - Arthur & George - A 3 part modern reinterpretation of the Holmes legacy, starring Martin Clunes. Has aired before, but I didn't see it. Rotten Tomatoes rated it at 79%, so I guess it has its flaws.

It was kinda the norm though. It was only when it ended and the ceasefire broke that I felt uneasy. There's still a lot of pain here as a result though.

I've always regarded these depictions of The Troubles, to be Ireland's equivalent of our Westerns. I think that stories like "The Cattle Raid of Cooley" and "Culcannon" are the Irish Westerns that need to be made into movies. Culcannon would make a great series.

Wife and I have just finished Bad Blood, a story of mob activities in Montreal, based on a true life story. 8.5/10, on Netflix.

"A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, England; centered on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby." www.imdb.com/title/tt2442560/Peakey Blinders is off the hook. Just finished season 1 so I'm late to the party. But if you like tales of organized crime, 20th century england / Ireland, and well developed characters, this one's for you. Graphically violent, but not pointless. Well deserved high ratings.

We've started the Prime series Carnaval Row. Alternate reality fantasy crime drama fairy tale. Good through 3 episodes.

Watching again for the umpteenth time, Band of Brothers. Took a closer look at Amazon Prime and liking the trivia notes they add for each episode. Rating: 10/10 & two thumbs up

Finished McCloud, season one on DVD. Dennis Weaver as likeable as ever. Thought the writing was weak and portraying McCloud as a Lady killer, strained credibility. Vintage NYC street scenes and cars were nice. Future seasons must have improved, as I had a positive memory of this series, but season one was lackluster overall.
There you go.

I remember that series from way back in the early 1970s. Dennis Weaver was kind of a big man in the Town of Taos where he lived back then. Many people remember him here. I enjoyed the series and how a small town Marshall could fit in with those big city types. Our current Sheriff is very much like that character. I am not certain if he has ever even seen the series as he is much younger than I am.

Dennis Weaver would eaten alive by the widows at my church. I have seen it to happen to guys like him. They are desperate for a man to manage to give meaning to their lives. But I don't blame them because loneliness sucks.

I have Prime since it was created and I had no idea this was there. I can't watch realistic war movies. My blood pressure goes sky high. Anything more graphic than The Longest Day does me in. Gallipoli, Braveheart, Platoon, Saving Private Ryan, and Schindler's are more than I can handle

I used the Trivia tab too, before I De-Amazoned. Can really add to your enjoyment of a series (and movies).

It's a nice link that Amazon has with IMDB. I never noticed the 'jump to scene' option. That's really nifty.

I can only watch the streaming services on the ROKU. It drives me crazy trying to navigate through the shows on the TV or DVR.

Trivia! Good to know. I usually catch a lot of anachronisms, but wouldn't have caught the bayonet thing in a million hours of watching.

Just finished “Carnival Row” on Amazon Prime. Very well done fantasy series with incredibly deep background story. Think of fantasy set in a Victorian setting.
