At the beginning there was a mention of SWRA. This one is almost universally liked by the smoker and bystander alike. And it reminds women of their dads and granddads, making you a decent seemingly person. Be nice to her and don't cast shame on your brother pipers.

One great thing about aromatics is that an open pouch of Captain Black Cherry makes my tobacco cellar (hutch) smell wonderful.

I’ve been smoking some Newminster #2 Smooth Rum lately (thanks David) and I find it quite pleasing. And I’m not a huge aro fan. Also just picked up 8oz of Butternut Burley. Only one bowl down but it was quite interesting. Maybe I am an aro fan?

I started with aromatics and still enjoy them on a regular basis.
Mac Baren vanilla aros are fantastic. They're the best vanilla pipe tobaccos I've ever had.
Boswell makes several aromatic favorites of mine. You really can't go wrong with any of Boswells blends...aromatic or not.
Even good old Captain Black regular still makes me happy.
Scotty's Trout Steam is another aro I enjoy. That's one aro I actually have stocked up on, I liked it that much.

Cult Conspiracy is my go-to. A vanilla/honey aro with a bit Latakia thrown in. It's marvelous.

If you liked it that much then you should try their Candy Corn and Cinnamon roll...neither is goopy and great taste, too. Unfortunately, they are P&C stock.

My current go to's - Scotty's Trout Stream - Scotty's Butternut Burley - Boswell Dan's Blend
Couple tried but likely will not re-buy but is not a condemnation. Everyone has their preferences - Sutliff Molto Dolce - Sutliff Creme Brulee
Will smoke in a pinch - 1-Q - Cult's Blood Red Moon (I'm just a big cherry guy but this is a good smoke)
On the way to try soon - Country Squire Second Breakfast - Country Squire Old Toby - Lane's Buttered Rum - Lane's BCA - Lane's RLP-6

When I met my wife I was smoking Stanwells Melange and she loved it. SWRA is the classic no brainer that is known to attract women by the dozens, I'd be weary smoking this one on a first date.

Another to try is Brigadier Black Alamo...also Lord Methley, if you can get past the room note...maybe it is just strong to me...I must have liked it, I have 3 pounds of it in the cellar. Killington from 4-Noggins is also a great aro that doesn't get goopy.

I’m not a big aro smoker, but when I do, it’s often SWRA.
IMO you’re asking two different questions -
‘What aromatics might I like to smoke ?’
and
‘What pipe tobacco has a room note that ladies would like ?’
In answer to the second question, I’ve actually gotten compliments - “ That smells nice !” from several ladies while smoking Lane BCA at various times. I’ll bring BCA with me when visiting in the homes of friends & family. Did so last Christmas season & will do so again this year.

I'm new here, and a relatively new smoker who's expanding his horizons. I find that I love English/ Balkan blends, as well as Va's. But, I also have a pipe dedicated to aro's. Currently, I have some Lane 1-Q (my friend will smoke nothing else, and it's not bad), Scandinavik, and several house blends from a couple of local tobacconists. I've been reading about English Aromatics or Crossover blends, and I'm curious about other smokers' opinions of them. Also, one of the house blends that I have is a blueberry aromatic that they call Serendipity. I smoked a bowl last night, probably my 3rd bowl of it in the last couple weeks. I've been refining my packing and lighting technique over the last week, and I'm starting to actually get some of the flavors that other smokers speak of with different blends. With this one, I was getting a chemical taste last night that I hadn't noticed when I'd smoked it before. I haven't smoked any other aro's this week, other than 1-Q. Is it common to aromatics, a slight chemical taste as you smoke? I didn't get it with the 1-Q at all

Celtic Talisman, Devil's Holiday, Blue Note, Blood Red Moon, MacBaren Vanilla Cream, and Eileen's Dream are blends that I consider to be quality aromatics.

The only aromatic I smoke very regularly is St Bruno. It's a big, bold blend. Subtle like a kick in the head. I never knew that was an aromatic. I don't know what else to call it. It has an extremely in-your-face topping, and it makes the whole room smell distinctively of St Bruno.
It's certainly not the American-style aromatic, with a Cavendish base, but it certainly smells nice and a ton of the flavor comes from the topping.

One of my favorites, which leans heavily on tge aromatic side is Sutliff Aromatic English. Lane HGL is good too. Just For Him had Shortcut to Mushrooms, but that's gone now. They have a new blend, which is sort of a replacement for STM, called "Bombadil", which I like just as much. C&D Black Frigate is also great, though not strictly and English crossover. It's virginia that's heavily soaked in rum, with Latakia and orientals. Peterson Wild Atlantic doesn't bill itself as an aromatic, but there's definitely a pleasant topping, which I like very much.
