Peter Heinrichs Special Curley dated 2006, a much better blend with age.
Pipe of choice: Stanwell #95 carved chubby pot with a wide stem👌👍

Medal of Valor dated 2011, tin version ONLY! I find the bulk horrendous. Pipe of choice: MM Country Gentleman Pipe. Great match-up!!👍 Then buy bulk and put it away in a jar for a year or more cause they are the same. So they say, but not even close!!! I had some bulk aged almost 5 years, still not enjoyable enough to me, so I gave it to a friend that does not have much money and he enjoys this bulk in RYO. He’s not a pipe smoker, but when I see him I make sure he has enough tobacco’s.

A bowl of Lane HGL. It came to me at about the perfect dryness and I didn't feel like waiting for my other tobaccos to dry this morning.
Taking it easy today. Staying home, relaxing and smoking many pipes.
Now White Knight

Tsuge - Raijin. Cant figure out if I like this or not. The cut makes no sense to me. Big chunks and long stringy pieces. A light inhale is like breathing in straight ammonia... but here I am, puffing away.
Revisiting Cult Blood Red Moon when it dries.

A light inhale is like breathing in straight ammonia... but here I am, puffing away. Revisiting Cult Blood Red Moon when it dries. I’ve had three bowls of Tsuge - Raijin, won’t have a fourth!! Another tobacco I gave away to someone that would appreciate any tobacco 👍 Last time I bumped into this guy I gave him a quart size Mason jar of Carter Hall, this guy was so thrilled he cried, which in turn brought tears too my eyes. No reason for people to be living in the streets in “ their time of need “! Hey, next year I might be living in a tent. I found out “ under the table, so be it said, “ that when my son decides to move I’m no longer going to be welcomed. I will be looking into other options next month when I have access to a vehicle.

Starting off my smoking day with 1960’s Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 1982 black sandblasted paneled slight bend Savinelli flat bottom sitter with a black vulcanite stem. A bottle of Mountain Dew made with pure cane sugar is my drink. Watching Sudden Impact while waiting for the Braves-Dodgers game.

I know the feeling there. I'm currently at my dads because of marriage issue. Luckily, I do my thing, he does his, I help out, and we get along. Still, not a good feeling.
I don't think the Raijin will be smoked again. I don't quite understand the blend at all. It joins the ranks with "davidoff green mixture" that P&C decided to replace one of my tins with
Loaded the Vintage Syrian cob with Blood Red Moon. This, I could handle once in a while. Smoked cherries anyone?

Wessex Brown Virginia Flake in a Willmer. Since I have nothing new to show you guys in the way of a pipe, I thought the book my Willmer reclines on might be of interest. It is a 122 year old copy of Thomas Hardy's The Trumpet-Major. Although not a first edition (the novel was published a few years earlier), this copy is part of the Wessex Edition of Hardy's collected works, published in 1895-96. Hardy took the old Saxon name "Wessex" and used it to create a "fictional" landscape for his characters (much like Faulkner did with his Yoknapatawpha County in Mississippi). OK Wessex tobacco lovers--carry on.......
