Looking at the hobby section, there's no thread asking what you all do for fun / relaxation.
So...apart from the obvious pipe hobby, what do you like to do for fun or to relax?
When I had time, a few years ago, I took up airsoft. It's a great way to destress. I've no time these days, but it was fun when I did it. It's far to expensive too (both time and money).
Apart from that TV series are my go to.
I wish I was good with my hands so I could pour some attention to that, but unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with artistic creativity.

Making pipe tampers, anything to do working with my hands. Going to an indoor or outdoor range and shoot a few of my pistols, hopefully will be going Saturday!!! Would like to make another pipe or two before I โ kick the bucket โ. Read at night and at times still enjoy drawing with pencil, charcoal and even pastel pens or pencils ๐๐

Well, I am into cycling, not doing as much as I would like. I cook with my daughter and enjoy my cigars and pipes along with the rare Islay Single Malt. I wonder who you mean. @lonecoyote, get rid of all the buckets and then you can make your pipes without fear of kicking any.

Since I was a young lad I have routinely submitted myself to extragalactic interdimensional alien abduction and diplomatic collaboration. Other than that I enjoy reading, music, tobacco, and a number of other vices. Just your average Joe...

I'd love to get a HAM license, but I would have to have the instructor come here. I listen to all sorts of radio, HAM, scanners, Internet. I was doing some conspiracy stuff on AM and FM, but I wanted to add music. Here's the rub. You can do whatever you want on YouTube, as webcasting on lower levels was given some privileges. You got AM and FM? Let's say I broadcast an hour a day and lay some background music on your intro. 500$/month Minimum for ASCP and hope BMI and the other one don't find you. So, I am working with some audio studio stuff to produce my own.
Collect Hot Wheels. Trying to find the rest of the original 1970 cartoons. It was taken off the air because the FCC thought it was simply an ad for Hot Wheels. They did the same thing to Sugar Bear's program in the early Sixties. Can't get enough of Super Sugar Crisp. Now you can throw ads all over the place, but I can't find my damned Hot Wheels Cartoons.
Antiques, when I was in business (large hobby) I was a a mostly paper collector.
I can say no more... because I had a brain fart of the highest magnitude

Other than that I enjoy reading, music, tobacco, and a number of other vices. Just your average Joe... I never gave aliens much thought until I was transferred from a Parochial School to Public. Public School was more intense back then. I was in 7th grade and all of the sudden I had to do a speech to the class. Everybody else did something thoughtful, but that kind of thing is beyond me. I told a story about falling asleep on a typewriter and being transported to the Planet of Qwertyuiop. To make a long story short... Yes I can do that! I was amazed at how many kids didn't realize that was the top line of a typewriter. The teacher loved it, as did the classmates. I was quite picked on as a kid, but some of the cool dudes actually came up and complimented me on it. Since then my brain has been dedicated to My friends on Zeta Reticuli, where one of the planets has been named Qwerty in my honor.

Gardening (vegetables and now trying my greenthumb with trees), wood working, fishing, shooting, lurking through the woods to see what I can find (hiking), reading.
When weather keeps me indoors I watch a lot of movies.

First, pipe smoking is not a hobby for me. It's part of my life like wearing my glasses daily. As far as hobbies go, my pen collecting is my main hobby. Been at it for the last 30+ years. Watch collecting has been my latest for the past 15 years and I collect mainly Asian automatics. Besides spending to much time on the web that's about it !!

Forgot too mention...I use to enjoy making fixed blade knives. I still have a collection of fixed blade and folding knives....lost count but I know I own over 250 different knives. Guess itโs a manโs thing....I also collect lighters.....may or may not be considered a hobby.

Guitar. Sometimes related endeavors like refurbishing an amp or a luthiery project.
I have lots of guns, but shooting just got boring after awhile.
A more unique hobby I have is researching geographic locations. I select areas at random(or when mentioned in a film, song, book etc) on google maps and zoom in for street tours. I click around for hours sometimes just getting a feel for places. I like to find unique buildings, businesses, historical or natural landmarks and research them further. I would travel constantly if I could- I guess this is really just a frugal means of exploration. Like one of those stories where a crippled body utilizes astral projection to leave their restraints. In my case, my bank account is the debilitation and western Pennsylvania is the lifeless body I yearn to escape.
I used to draw and paint. That is to say that was all I did when I was younger. I would write/draw my own comics. Stuff like that.
I would also add thinking to the list. I spend a lot of time thinking. Recalling past events, cataloguing thoughts and memories, carrying out hypothetical scenarios and conversations. I mention this because it doesn't seem all that common among the people I know socially. haha
Other than that, basic stuff like books, TV, video games etc.

I've got too many hobbies also. If a picture is worth a thousand words......... 1. Boats/Water I grew up on the water. Not much interested in fishing anymore since it seems like too much work, but anchoring the boat and sipping on some wine while watching a sunset is good. (If any Marine Police types are reading this, that would be non-alcoholic wine). 2. Guns I love punching holes in paper. I call it "lead therapy." The gun in my hand is an old (large frame) stainless Ruger Vaquero chambered in 45 Colt with black birdshead grips. (If the NSA is listening, I am sorry to report that all my guns were lost in an unfortunate boating accident a few years ago). 3. Used to knock the occasional quail out of the air....... 4. Photography I try to get some good photos of my wonderful, watery part of the world and exhibit at local galleries. 5. Books I really love books. Actually I made my living from books, but as a hobby I used to collect 19th century novels, and have been known to pose a pipe on top of them occasionally.

My friend and I did however buy a skeet launcher recently for camp.
And I am pretty novice when it comes to amps, circuits and such. I like to find old tube amps and make them sexy with custom knobs, lights, tolex etc. As far as internal work, I have to work from schematics, so I would hate to make mistakes on a classic amp. More than likely someone would buy it and take it to an expert to remove my mods. haha

I paint models for my Warhammer Horus Heresy army. I still have my Chaos army somewhere- Still in the boxes. One of those things where my friends seemed excited discussing it over beers and then I bought my set the next day and they wimped out when they saw how involved it was.. Ironically, we play MTG semi-regularly. haha

As my non de plume suggests, flying, boring holes in the sky doing aerobatics, since I was pretty young-since nearly 50 years ago. Restoring airplanes, shooting and reloading, assaulting my piano, and making pipes. I also spend a lot of time on my inert butt reading. In spite of my other passtimes, the one I would be the most devastated to be unable to do would be reading.
