I thought this would be a good thread to start , I like many of you enjoy cooking, an felt it would be nice to provide pictures and maybe some recipes on what your hometown or state is locally known for ..
I am from Connecticut originally and they are well know for two things , Pepe's Pizza Pepes pizza best pizza I believe in US
and Louis Lunch First Hamburger - first hamburger in USA
In Tampa where I live know , being Cuban we are known for Cigars and Cuban Sandwiches , I will have a big write up for you at Christmas Time because we roast a whole pig. But I will provide some delicious pictures of some great Cuban Sandwiches.

We have Irish stew, ulster Fry (which includes soda bread, an Irish staple). Can't think of any more right now. We need photos. You have to get the Black Pudding in there. LOL! Don't forget Mixed Grill. In the USA, the Irish are associated with Corned Beef Brisket, boiled with cabbage. I do not recall seeing that over on your side of the pond. Maybe it is an American thing?

I've never made those. I need to make some some day to be able to take photos. I'll get a fry some day and photograph it for you.

Good point....when I lived in Europe and did traveling never found any restaurant serve corned beef and cabbage. It’s an American Irish dish. That’s like the Maltese dog, most believe they originated from Malta....NOT...they are clueless about the breed.

Besides all the good food around here, this is my favorite fried shimp po-boy!! During Lent, on Friday (no meat for Catholics), this place is insane. It is recommended you call your order in an hour ahead!!

Ted I’ve been to France and the Coastal French are ok people, Parisians not so much. My good friend who bombed Gadiffi was denied flying over their air apace resulting in the death of 2 pilots because of having to go the long way, ran out of fuel coming back, ditched and were never recovered. Costal people revier us.

Down here, if locals find out you are not from here, they will usually try to feed you. The French, especially the Parisians are _ssholes. I spent a summer in Aix-en-Provence, and the many of the locals were cool. I think it is part of the French national consciousness to dislike Americans, because every time they see an American, they realize that if it were not for us (and the Brits, Canadians and Poles), they would still be speaking German right now. Rather than show gratitude or sheer kindness, they are generally pricks to assuage their shame.

Although before my time in the Corps, my squadron, VMFA-314, was providing SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) assistance to the bomb droppers. Here we are, 32 years later, and we are dealing with the same problems. Sorry to hear about your buddy.

Remember Brad, if NOT for 55,000 plus American Troops buried in France along with the Russian Troops liberating France, they would be speaking German right now!! In Paris as an American I felt completely unwanted. I was in France on business, only felt welcomed in the French Embassy. I agree with your statement on the French people on the coast👍👍
