My all time fave are the Tamales I get from a street vendor that goes thru my nieghborhood. I live in the Bario so we have a Mercado that sells the best Tacos ever also ! The Tamale Ladies from San Luis, CO come to this area. Sadly, they do not stop be here. Can you imagine warm tamales brought to your door? The guy who comes to my neighborhood, his names Renaldo, rides a tricycle cart with an insulated box that steers the cart and holds the warm tamales . He has a row of bells on the box to ring as he comes up the street when I hear his bells I go ut the front door and hail him and I get my tamales right at my door !

I saw a woman selling tamales from a cooler box.... they are too cheap to buy from a restaurant that is licensed than to risk buying off the street. Plus, I can get them from friends that I know.
Ain’t buying seafood out of the back of a pickup neither.

I don't each much fast foot anymore, but I would have to go with "Raising Canes" and "Chick Fil A." When I can get it, I also love "In N Out" burgers. Chik Fil A finally came to New York City. Only took them seventy years.
I used to have to drag my coworkers to a Chik Fil A on every business trip out of the city. Now I can hide my shame and eat it locally Too bad it's not keto-friendly. I've been on keto for a few days short of a year. While I love Chick-Fil-A, I love being skinny more. Next time you eat there, raise a sandwich for me...please

In Ireland, supermacs. Can't beat it.
In the USA, I love steak and shake. Really cool diner atmosphere and great food and better desserts.
In thailand, street food vendors for sure

I had to look up Tamales...interesting dish. I read a recipe but it looks like slightly too much faffing about for my liking. I'm also not sure where I'd get corn husks either. I'm sure a Chinese supermarket would have them, but there are none nearby.
Still, now I'm a little more knowledgable.

This is bad. This is very bad. Breakfast: - just about anything from a non-affiliated taco stand
- sausage egg and cheese biscuits from McDonalds
- breakfast burritos from Taco Cabana
- half dozen glazed donuts and two kolaches from Shipley's Donuts
Lunch and Dinner - just about anything from a non-affiliated taco stand
- a half dozen tacos from Jack in the Box
- Whopper-with-Cheese from Burger King
- Quarter-Pounder-with-Cheese from McDonalds
For those of you who've never been to the Southwestern US or Mexico, this is kinda what a taco stand looks like. Generally speaking, the more people you see eating there, the better the food.

Believe me, I love some McD's biscuits, but if you have a Hardee's or Carl's Jr. around, give theirs a try. If I have the option, I go with Hardee's for their biscuit sandwiches.

Always found it a bit amusing given Ireland's long history with the United States that North American Hispanic food never caught on in Ireland much. Now Indian Chinese thats another story of course.
You know in Thailand there are Mexican restaurants literally EVERYWHERE... and only foreigners on holiday eat in them. But as a latin food addict, its a nice thing to have around in Siam.

Chinese is everywhere here. Mexican is scarce... Except there's now a big push on burrito bars. They are hugely successful with queues running down the street, so perhaps times are changing. The place is now ripe for a taco bell.

Carl’s Jr. has pretty good biscuit sandwiches on the breakfast menu, they make the dough daily and roll it out.

We have a family tamale shack at the entrance to our neighborhood. My freezer stays well stocked.

Only place to get an authentic burrito, chimichanga or tamale is this very tiny restaurant in the College town of Chapel Hill, not far from UNC.

Though, you might be hard pressed to get the right Masa flour over there. If you can, though, it's a good Saturday project. Edit: you could probably substitute parchment paper for the corn husks. The purists would chide me for that, but you make do with what you have

Big chunks of roast turkey in red chili wrapped in a huge corn meal husk. Were they ever good. "Tuesday is Red's Tamale Day". That was their slogan. Sponsors of the S.F. Giants. My family did our part!!!!

You Living in Baton Rouge I used to take the family over on North Street to I Believe Delpets Tamale shack, little clean place, white roll paper on every table, kids loved it, we pigged out, I believe it was one of their favorite places and mine. The only other place they loved was the A&W root beer place, that’s because they had a pinball machine and I let them play for 20$ worth of quarters, when they were out that was it.

One of the benifits of living in the Bario is the Mercados. They all have a lunch counter where you can get "real" Mexican food, not Taco Bell !! I have two close to me and both make fresh, great Tamales every day. The bakery makes great Bollilos on which I put my Barbaqoa on to make a sandwich. Muy bueno

In a word, CRAP We used them when I was a kid and didn't know any better. They aren't bad if you don't have any other access to tamales. Stocking up a hunting cabin, a sailboat, etc.

Stocking up a hunting cabin, a sailboat, etc. Or clogging up the toilet....lol No, none of that. It's easy to be snobbish about food when you have a lot of choices. Heat a can, put some Austex Chili and some cheese and onions on it and you will have a better meat than you can get at most fast food joints. I have homemade beef and pork, spinach cheese and chicken, and bean and cheese in the freezer. They are made fresh daily and sold at a little shack down the street. $10/ dozen hot, 3 dozen for $25 frozen. Good straight up without any toppings. But we are lucky.
