This is the low season for motorcycles in Texas, unless you want to bake your head in a helmet. So hot and humid that you can't cool off at any speed. We still have 9 good months though. The morning ride is perfect but when I get home in the evening I'm soaked. Nothing that a change of clothes and a cold drink can't correct. 👍😎 I had a cup holder on my wing that would hold a Route 44 Cherry Limeade. I rode my 95 wing from Houston to Austin, 165 miles. I had to have help to get off the bike when I got there.

Beautiful ride into work this morning. We had some rain last night and there's nothing like the smell of freshly soaked desert in the morning.

This morning, I hopped on the bike and heard a couple "pop" sounds. When I parked at work, several of my seat beads came rolling off onto the ground. Lol ... time for a new one! 😄

Welcome to the Patch from NE Texas. I had an R69 as well as a couple of Goldwings, out of about 20 bikes.

I just gave my set to my nephew last month. I would have happily given it to you. Don't need a King-size seat, do you?

Don't need a King-size seat, do you? I do need a new seat but have heard the King size changes your ride height and stretch. It says online for riders over 6'3" and 260 lbs. Thank you very much for the offer though! 😎

My nephew got a Wing but he's 5'6.

I've been getting a slight front wobble at lower speeds and noticed that my tire shows what looks like cupping. Since this has never happened, I must assume the suspension is finally shot. $$$

Are you certain it is not something with the tire? Pressure?

Are you certain it is not something with the tire? Pressure? Pressure is good and the last few front tires had no issues. I can tell by the ride that the front suspension is somewhat dead feeling. The GL1800 forums discuss this frequently and many people take this opportunity to upgrade from OEM.

Are you certain it is not something with the tire? Pressure? It happens with Goldwings because of the massive weight on the front end. Springs sag and seals give out. You can fix it yourself for $175 or pay a couple of grand for a high end set of cartridges. I upgraded the springs in mine and replaced the seals at 24k miles. Also added a pair of half inch spacers to preload the springs a little bit for the heavy load. Also, the head bearings give out and need to be upgraded.

I'm thinking new springs, seals and oil should be good. I've not done anything to the suspension since owning it so I'm sure it's time. I'll bet that whatever oil is left in there smells like hell. Lol

Lol It gets awful nasty for oil that doesn't get hot. Basically hydrolic fluid. I think it absorbs water and some weird lifeforms grow in it. DO NOT DRINK IT!!! 😜

Appointment is made for Thursday to get a new front tire and, as long as they're in there, fresh fluid in the forks.
