UPDATE: Got all the paneling up and decided with all the scrap I had I'd trim the windows and A/C unit just because. Nothing much more I can do for awhile till the window blinds get here so I can install them and then figure where everything's going to go so I can start putting pegboard up and bench work. Haven't a clue where any of it's going to go except the lathe right now, going to be a head banging experience till I get it all straight in my head and make sure it all works together as intended. Having much more room then my last shop I can't set it up the same and I've acquired a few more machines like a radial arm saw, table saw and a dust collection system. The dust collector was in an attached out building last time and the table saw I kept in a shed, now I've haven't a shed or can afford to purchase one and I certainly don't want to build a attach housing for the D/C this time. Would like to purchase some used metal cabinets with doors to store all my parts, supplies and small power tools but, that remains to be seen see'en I have to conserve as much money as I can.

Your getting there Ron, thanks for sharing pictures of your progress. The first pipe you make should be for yourself, a second part of your life celebration. A pipe to commemorate your accomplishment. Well doneπππππ

Besides, I still have more pipes then I smoke in whats left in my collection.

Looks great, Ron...time for to take a break from it all and regroup all your thinking and get some rest, too!! I know your right Walt but, there's a lot to do yet and my lathe could be here as soon as 3 weeks. Going to go look at some used storage cabinets tomorrow and hopefully come home with at least two. Checked out Craigslist and those yahoo's want almost new retail prices and up for dented and rusted POS's. Found some at Office Barn for a reasonable price instead. I'll have plenty of time to rest when I'm done, besides that's what Sunday is for.

Walt, There aint NOTHING near me, as it is I have to drive 30 miles just to check the cabinets out I'm seeing tomorrow. There is one in Tyler though and I'll be sorta near if I don't take these. Thank you sir.

Lol ... he's ready to move into Ron's new space. I did notice the improper weight distribution on that moving truck though! My friend Rob was a professional mover in the Bronx and he taught me a lot on my last big move.

Hey, if ya got a couch and end tables in there your welcome to move in......to my house that is. Front room is virtually empty but, the 26 foot truck I moved here in was cubed to the ceiling from front to rear. Sadly I had more items for the shop then I did the house left.

Another update on my shop progress, almost complete but, I still have a few small things to do to it and I'm still waiting on my Lathe and Stand. They said today that my lathe is in and that the stand will be in in August sometime so they'll ship them both together as I wished. Once the lathe arrives and is setup I'll be able to complete the shop and know where I need to place more pegboards, shelves and and run the duct work for my dust collection system which will go to the lathe, buffers, table saw and other various items. I gotta say, it's getting full in there quick. Glad I decided to put the radial arm saw out in the garage. As you might have guessed by the many impediments of destruction I have in here, this is not just a shop for making pipes. I also do a little wood working, electrical and electronics etc. etc.

Thanks guys! And there really is quit a bit walk space in here its just a cluttered right now with boxes and other items yet to be put to use. If you could see it from a birds eye view looking down there's plenty of open space for traveling to and from machines and cabinets, just not anymore room beside the lathe for any other machines. Been trying to organize parts and materials so I don't have to go too far or dig for anything and its certainly been a project to say the least.

What kind of compressor are you running for your blasting? Also, WHERE'S THE LATHE? I'm all jealous to see it.

I'm using a 2 stage 2hp 25 gal. compressor because I use a pressure pot and not a siphon setup , you'll see it in the photos sir, follow the orange air line.

I saw the small compressor and the the pressure pot. I wasn't sure what you had feeding the pot. I haven't heard of people using that setup before, I assume you find it adequate? If so, I could feasibly use my 2.5hp compressor, instead of buying a $1000 monster for live siphon.

My opinion is that siphon is just a PITA.

From what I've heard, you are correct. Finicky, to say the least. Thanks for posting this. I think I know what I'm getting for my birthday... ;-)

Love it when carver helps carver...just the way it should be...master helping young upstart (that is going places, I might add).
Hope no one gets upset with me calling Cramps a young upstart, but he has been at this for only a year and is turning out some amazing work.
