Getting the GP100 44 back from Cabelas tomorrow morning. It better be right. I certainly hope so. Let us know how it goes. I sure miss my .44 Special S&W Model 1926. Stolen years ago.

I'm tempted to pack up the range bag and head to the range.

I'm tempted to pack up the range bag and head to the range. I so wish there was a range in these parts. One would think that the USFS or the BLM would set one up. They own most of the land here. Hunting is popular. Everyone owns guns. So, most people just use road signs for sighting in or target practice.

Ron, the groupings Son did was at range in Cleveland. I will have to wait until cooler weather for a rifle meet up. I just can't shoot with sweat in my eyes, and I am very anal about rust on my precious baby guns. I also don't do stainless for no particular reason.

I will drop $20 bucks just to shoot at the range.

Shooting around here is not a good idea. Very disturbing to the community and the livestock. Also, too close to the highway and other farms for high powered rifle. Standard procedure here for sighting in a scope, which only take a few rounds, is the Stop sign where my road joins the highway, about 270 yards. Inside the letter "O" works best. I just have to watch the cross traffic so mornings are best. Open country and a mesa behind as backstop.

I just like the whole formal Range thing with the target stands, the covered benches, the range officer on the PA, the order and discipline. "Step away from the Firing Line, Actions open.". Which is probably why none exists here. These folks here are too rowdy and uncooperative for a real gun range. "YOU can't tell ME what to do! I have lived here all my life!!" That is the local anthem.

Years ago when I lived In Michigan I would go out in the woods and shoot..Then the developers showed up and built high dollar houses and it became a no shooting zone..We have an indoor range here in town..If you figure what it cost to shoot and the price of ammo though it's not real cheep.

Damn Developers. Years ago worked in D.C.,eh, Washington City, and lived way out in rural Virginia in an old farm house. Next property was a 60 acre woodlot the owner let me deadwood and hunt and walk and such. Now it is gone, or course, as is my little old house. All McMansions now, filled with self important stuffed shirts and their wives with pretty teeth. Sorry, my old grouchy country self is emerging. Don't misunderstand me. There was a time when I was one of those guys.

Houston was founded by developers who continue to pave it over. There's a rifle /shotgun range about 1 mile as the crow flies from my home, and about 3 miles to drive. I first shot there in 1963 when it was waaay out in the country. It was 200 yards then but there are homes all around it and it is 100 yards now. I have seen the deed restrictions for the neighboring homes and they have a notice that the range is grandfathered in and they can't sue or harass them in any way.

I want to see how these factory, grooveless Hogues feel with several ranges of loads. I get to the range fairly regular, so no rush. Lots of projects going on, work is busy and I have vacation and off time coming up. So lots of time to do it in Sept.

If I were you I would quit that shite asap! 😉🤠 I have heard rave reviews of those grips.

I gotta find some better grips for my Redhawk. Need narrower, not fat grips. I am not using 325 grain +p loads, just plain old Remington factory ammo which is like 240 grain at 1,100 fps. The recoil is nothing to complain about. I have not had luck finding anything thinner than the OEM walnut.

I have never seen thinner grips than the factory. I had to get thicker grips for my Blackhawk. The Pachmayr Presentation Grips have been thin on the guns I have used them on but no idea about the Redhawk though.

although in william 's case, I'm sure he's only messing. That said, I'm a pedant so I like to be correct. What's a clip then? William was very polite about it. On a gun forum several guys would have savaged you. A Clip is what I do to my toe nails after I finish reading the Magazine on the can.

Many years ago I lived in an apartment building..One day the police knocked on my door and told me to leave the building now..The lady next door was after her husband with a deer rifle..If she fired it would come through the wall into my apartment. They got things under control and let me go back in.

In other news, Smith & Wesson's bringing back the Model 648 in .22 Magnum. Not a kit gun, but a full size 6" 46 ounce 8-shot with an MSRP of $749. I would have to own a rather large collection of revolvers before I bought that one, but some of you guys might love it.

A body builder who is afraid of recoil and muzzle blast?

I was hoping one of you guys could tell me. NAA Mini in 22 Mag, I can see: deeep concealment or tertiary piece, and the one I got to fire was shockingly accurate. Big a$$ 22 Mag that's not even cheap? Hmm.

That is consistent with most gun grip makers. For some reason, the Redhawk is regarded as beneath their dignity. Every inquiry about custom work comes back archly negative. I am starting to form a Redhawk complex.
