Apologies to Bill for my brain-fart that put him in Argentina. (Thanks, Charlie.) But, guys— seems kinda obvious that this new “member” (who still hasn’t introduced himself) is a rude, ignorant, and arrogant troll who uses his THIRD post to tell us we’re “screwed” as a country. And him from the country that sends uncounted 1000s of Taurus guns to us every quarter. Don’t see how he can redeem himself, but “rude, ignorant, and “arrogant” will stick as far as I am concerned. YMMV.

I just came upon this thread. Do you realize how strange this all reads from somebody from outside? America is really screwed. Bill, you might want to introduce yourself if you have not already on another thread. As for Second Amendment proclivities. This is part of our history and something most Americans feel strongly about. Perhaps because we are a large and fairly well dispersed population, at least west of the Mississippi River, that we rely on firearms to do deal with some problems. Many people believe the USA is "screwed" for a variety of reasons. Just recall this is one of the few places where you can write that or say that and no one is likely to bother you.

I won’t share the story again, I already have before… but had I not been armed, there was a pack of scumbags that were looking to stomp my head like a melon. Having a gun kept me from at the very least, been maimed… that was many moons ago.
I am still enjoying life as a result.

America might be screwed or not, but the best Country in the world to live in. Might be screwed? Depends on elections.

I just came upon this thread. Do you realize how strange this all reads from somebody from outside? America is really screwed. Do you realize how naive and foolish you sound? Good luck defending yourself with a stick if you ever need to. I wonder how that will work against multiple assailants or someone who is stronger than you. And don’t pretend you have no crime where you live.

Not a revolver, but I didn't want to start a new thread. Pretty good shooting from an older gent. I believe I could have made these shots when I was in my 20s, but no way now. My dominant eye is afflicted with black spots and cloudy bubbles and a drooping eyelid. My shooting days may be at the end.

must be a fun rifle to shoot. Starting at around $2500 and a 30 month waiting period, it has to have something going for it. If I was younger I would probably want one, but my Wesson and Harrington Buffalo Classic would shoot the same if I was up to it. 32" barrel, 11 pounds with the mercury cylinder in the butt.

What he DIDN’T show us were the misses. 4 or 5 hits? Offhand with iron sights? Without a miss at 700+ yards? No way. I’d wager on 3-4 misses per hit.

That's funny because the document that has made this such a great and successful country is the same document that insures our right to keep and bear arms. America will really be screwed when we can't.

It had so many great lines - but the best single line I've ever heard was (speaking of "Colonel Colt's revolver") "I said I never had much use for one. Never said I didn't know how to use it."

🤷 I don't know, but I thought it was interesting. Definitely was. Thanks for posting. It's kind of like Elmer's shot, killing a deer at 640 yards. Witnessed. It took him 5 shots, and he admitted some luck, but still a feat. Lots and lots of practice.

I definitely would be hesitant to visit Rio unarmed.

I am not normally a fan of nickel or chrome-plated guns. I just don't care for the look. This one however is quite striking! It's a dang fine looking shooter.

That is a nice piece and I agree that Magnum loads in K Frames are not pleasant to shoot.
3 inch barrel is about perfect for self defense.
I have one for a Colt Detective, shrouded ejector. Unfortunately, the ex-esposa has the gun. I think I might have a 3-inch barrel for a S&W J frame around here somewhere.

Truth be told, I'm a revolver sort of guy. My carry piece is a mildly modified Ruger Security Six, 2 3/8 inch barrel, stainless, rounded butt. It's a bit heavier which helps with recoil, but I just haven't found anything else I like better for concealed carry. My love of semi-auto pistols started...and ends...with the 1911.

That is about how I feel. Just not n fan of the autoloader although I have owned several. Long admired the Ruger Security Six in all configurations. Mine is an old Colt Cobra which is really a backup to a Colt Commando .38 Special. I have found two guns are better than one when it comes to revolvers.

That second wheel-gun is known as a “Texas reload.” I’m a revolver guy, too, but my EDCs are a Sig-Sauer P365XL with a red dot sight and a Keltec PM30 (30 rounds of 22 Mag and 19 ounces!).
