Not ever needing to have much work done, am guessing that this 4 inch barrel would work on a 3inch ,lacking the WCF designation? The pony scratches werew obviously from the brass snap on the well worn leather holster. www.gunpartscorp.com/products/171220a

Taking your word for it...if you are wrong, I have a hired gunslinger out of Linden headed your way. Thanks....We will get it in and park it in the shop. Guessing that was the case...grandma (the daughter of the previous owner) was that last one to shoot it before I got it. She put a hole in her mattress with it, so it came my way...I cleaned the heck out of it and still had keyhole shots.

I enjoy visits from gunfighters. The hole ain’t filled yet.
Plus, we ought to discuss the meaning of the word “should.” I might add that I have not had gunsmith relations with that barrel.

I know...I appreciate the advice from those far wiser than me in this regard. Plenty of good gunsmiths around these parts...sure it will be fine.

For sure....
And one local gunsmith on a forum talked about possibly modifying the gun to do so, but I passed on that idea.

I have my dad's gun, one of those crappy post-war German POS that look like a Colt but double action. The timing was off so bad that I broke off the tip of the firing pin so no one would shoot it. 32 Long Colt. I have a shadow box for it if I get time.

Charlie, once you get your Colt in order you might consider sending it to Ford’s (Indian River, FL) for a refinish job— in any finish of your choice. Even gold! (Ugh.) They’ve done a couple of guns for me and do a good job for a reasonable price. That 1936 Colt Official Police I pictured above was done by them. Or your local ‘smith might do a blue job for less, minus the shipping.

😢 Heard that once or twice. You rarely hear that about boats. You mean that hole in the water surrounded by wood or fiberglass into which one pours money?

Revolver has become a kind of catchall so I guess it’s OK to post this here. Picked this toy up yesterday. Slipped a Sig Sauer red dot on it and am going through the sight-in Rigamarole. Kind of fun. A very neat gizmo

This is the new bedside gun after the Star 30M. Since the ATF has upped their murder rate. Buckshot and slugs.

Back to revolvers. First and only time I ever heard of an Arizona Ranger m Marty Robbins spent his formative years in Phoenix, and the Agua Fri river mentioned in the opening is pretty much where he lived. The Arizona Rangers as they currently are comprised, is as a non POST certified organization, the provide backup to law enforcement. They have a strong presence in Tombstone

Preferably in 16ga., which I don't know if they even make. I just wouldn't like to have one enough to pay what they cost.

Tucker Carlson uses a 28 gauge. He claims he gets far fewer wounded birds with a 28 then with a 12 or a 20. I suspect it’s pattern density, since you can get 1 ounce and 1-1/8 ounce loads for 28s.

I prefer if it was Cylinder bore but it was meant for hunting. 20 inch for brush I guess. I thought about having the choke clips milled off. Seems more useful as a potential hunter gun with the chokes. I have a full choke for it, too. For self defense, good aim is needed. I have a fiber optic front sight. Thought about a rear rifle site or one of the modern sights.
