At my friends house celebrating his 70th. Sitting on the patio and eating salad, pizza and Tres Leches cake. Absolutely gorgeous day in SE Texas.

Old gals appreciate the nosegay. On Mother's Day, I used to get my wife, mother and aunt together for brunch. I brought each one a Gardenia corsage. Which they wore proudly. Corny as it sounds, they loved it.

Shweetie is frying me a cheeseburger, and while she was in town while ago she picked me up a Dr Pepper. Just because. How in the world did I ever rate this woman?!?

My wife brings me home a giant soda everyday. I only need two things tobacco and a giant soda to keep me happy. Filet mignon with baked potatoes in just a few minutes.

I am delighted that so many of you receive kindly attentions from your spouse. That is as it should be and I am sure you reciprocate.
Thinking about canned salmon patties. There is some left over steak. Maybe both?
I seldom drink sodas. Mostly seltzer with a hint of flavor. Oh, when at my favorite Mexican joint in town, the one with the real you know, I order "Jamaica" ("Ha-my-kah")- a punch made from the Hibiscus flowers boiled into a tea and sweetened with sugar. For some reason, I got to liking it.

The Salmon Patties were remarkably good. First of all, I used Deming Wild Caught Red Salmon from Alaska. This was an actual section of a salmon, both sides of the spine, cut and fit into the can. I had to remove the spine and some bony material. Two eggs, Manischevitz Matzo Meal, finely chopped Italian Parsley, celery, red onion. Herbs were freshly ground pepper, oregano, basil, dill.
They were good. Real good and I need to do this more often. The salmon was so good I ate some from the can just plain.

Salmon patties don't get enough love and my wife does not like fish. I would walk a mile for good salmon pattie.

I certainly prefer salmon filets and steaks over the canned but I cannot keep it on hand. Also, I want to support the Alaskan canneries. That is a way of life up there that should be preserved.

I made salmon patties by request for the MC club meeting and I was almost ripped apart. My wife likes them, so maybe I will make some tomorrow.

Baked bread around Midnight.
WHole Wheat and unbleached Bread Flour. King Arthur. With Kefir and Buttermilk, an egg, and melted butter. Fermented about 10 hours. Very tasty loaf.

A small beef steak and one fried egg.
That has been my favorite breakfast since 1968.

I love steak and eggs. Its my favorite too. But my lifestyle demands a winter budget and a summer budget. Right now, I'm on the winter budget. So I just sprinkle cheese on my eggs.

I get that budgeting part. Mostly, I go with the "Green Meat" Round or Chuck Steaks. This pack of two little steaks was $3.75 Not bad if you can find these deals. Smith's Foods puts T-Bones on sale often as a draw and I take advantage of that, too.

1 can salmon 1 egg 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup dried bread crumbs (I prefer crushed saltiness) Reserve the liquid from the salmon and add it back until the texture is right to make patties that stay together. Mix everything together until you can make patties that stay together and fry in oil until brown and crispy. Note that I use twice the amount of onions that most recipes call for.
