Shredded BBQ pork over the top of baked potatoes with sour cream, chives and cheese and a bit of BBQ sauce. Inexpensive, filling and tasty what is not to like.

Today, Into the Italian red meat gravy I made yesterday went smoked pork ribs and part of rotisserie chicken. Then back into the oven to meld. Then I will be cooking Spinach Fettucine. Wonderful things can happen when I return from the store.

Wonderful things can happen when I return from the store. I added Provolone and mozzarella. Finished with fresh grated parmesan. Came out good and rich and more than I deserve.

I love Pecorino Romano. None on hand here and it is a 94 mile round trip to get it so it might be a while. The little market in Questa is only a 42 mile round trip but they do not carry imported cheeses.

Just got to New Orleans, about to go out to an Italian restaurant for dinner. I have had some excellent meals in NO but never Italian. I know there many Italian Americans there. So, a good restaurant should not be hard to find. We expect a full report later. I remember K-Paul's while he was alive. That was a great spot. I had a great meal at Antoine's on a Sunday. That is more of a locals day and they step up in the kitchen, at least way back when I was there.

Giant double cheeseburger with mixed fries from the good place with crooked floor. Chef Paul Prudhomme started out as a hamburger stand before he started doing the Antoine's as a lunch counter. K Paul came later and you could still get a box lunch. Paul even cooked for presidents and Emeril even worked in his kitchen at one time. The worst meal I ever had was at Wolfgang Pucks the wife and I left and went and got a Fatburger.

A stock of ham shank, diced ham, onion, garlic, celery, carrots and bay leaves going. Soon, yellow split peas, quinoa and brown rice will be added. Got to have soup or I turn to stone. Some curse put upon me by Demeter (Ceres), the Goddess of Food.

Long day walking in the French Market. Then the Chaumett battle field. Had gumbo and jambalaya and bread pudding on the boat, then beignets and cafe au lait at Cafe Du Monde. Getting ready for the big party.
