Shaved Cure 81 ham via me. Topped with paper thin slices of jalapeno and a nice Edam cheese on a nice Cuban roll with Duke's Real Mayonnaise. BBQ Lays Kettle Chips and Mr Pipp diet soda. A lunch fit for a king or in my case a pauper. I left out a few bread and butter spicy pickles and wonder if I am the only one who drains off juice from cheaper pickles and replaces it with the juice from better pickles. There must be over a inch of spices in the bottom of my current pickle jar. This strange habit has not killed me yet and the current jar of goodness has to four years old or better. I just drink the good stuff.

While in Miami, had the chance to go back to my favorite pizza place (it's been there since 1982) had some great pizza and ordered a dinner of Manicotti with meat sauce. Owner and I chatted about when I first came into their place (it was a walk-up window only). He was impressed that this was my first stop when I hit the streets of Miami. Wife and doggie loved the Manicotti and because he saw me there daily for a week, gave me and the wife a free T-shirt that he won't sell and only gives to employees. Boy were there some pissed off people hollering that they ate there too...he told them that the shirts were for family only. Made me proud to have this special place as part of my Miami experience. I used to frequent the place when I lived in Miami back in the 80's...loved it then and it has gotten better...also bigger as he bought out the store next door and now owns the whole store front now.

We had cheap good Mexican food tonight. A real rarity in the Houston area. Plenty of great food, but not cheap. There must be a dozen pizza places in this little town, but it is a tourist town. B&B capital of Texas, most haunted town in Texas, 10 miles from a primeval swamp. Too cold and rainy for the swamp tour this trip.

Good luck looking for a house in tornado alley complete with giant skeeters and alligators. Because I know how boring it can be living in hurricane central with giant skeeters and alligators.

Tonight was a simple hamburger mixed veggies with some better quality pasta shells spiced up with herbs and spices. No tomatoes were used. Fast simple and inexpensive. Momma surprised me with a double chocolate fudge cookie from the mall and it is a real treat with my evening coffee.

The tornado alley runs to the northeast of the area we are searching. I did study this for a few years before deciding. I am a Libra after all.

I would enjoy a place with gators.
Years ago, I was visiting the USS North Carolina berthed in an inlet surrounded by gators. The snack bar is on a floating pier. A huge gator is parked at the end was agreeable about receiving snacks. I spent much time there feeding him and discussing world events. There was just something about him which was pleasant.

I wouldn't mind a pair of gator boots. Most of the places we are looking at are far from the gators. There was a place on Caddo lake, 47 acres and a house for 85k. Over half was swamp. I called to make an offer and they had a contract with 2 backups. Another place we are looking at has a spring and a creek, but I doubt any gators. I could import a breeding pair just for Psycholime though.

A place with a creek and a spring would be good for ditch food and free water for the garden.

A truly excellent meaty tomato sauce which has cooked on and off for over a week. Most recently added was the remains of a small beef pot roast cooked in it. More wine. Then whole wheat spaghetti. Now, I know many people do not enjoy whole wheat spaghetti, they find it dense and heavy. I love it Cooked al dente and then swirled in the sauce, topped with freshly grated Pecorino Romano and Parmesan. Thatsa so good!

Fried chicken from down the street and it was not to salty and the biscuits and sides were good. The place always has a line around it and now we know why. Now having a cup of good coffee with cream while yawning.

Chicken sausage gumbo is a grilled cheese. Nope ... I'm afraid it's not. Scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese, link sausages and coffee.

Now having a cup of good coffee with cream while yawning. If I lived up the street from a Fried Chicken joint I would likely enjoy it. I might weigh 500 pound but I would die happy. I already live 20 miles from the nearest restaurant and weigh over 300, do the math. A weight/distance curve.

My dad told me once that, if he were to do it all over again, he'd marry a short, fat Italian woman and live a short, fat, happy life. LOL

Left over fried chicken because I don't have to cook. Also I did not marry a short fat Italian girl so having dinner made for me would be a long shot.

Feel bad about posting my measly nuked cheeseburger (WhiteCastle) after reading the above fine cuisine...Freezer is about empty and since I don't know how long we will be here, loading up is out of the picture. probably gonna go to Costco tomorrow and pick up some filet mignon and grill it on the grill or throw it in an iron skillet on the gas stove. Either way, I have a hunger for a good steak...sweet baby doggie has been giving me the eye for her share of a good steak...wife is not complaining about the choice either.

Dey know a ding or two 'bout meatballs in Buffalo. Beef, pork and chicken. Very good. Fresh grated Parmesan on top and a big-a glass of red wine.
A big salad with romaine and baby spinach with cecci beans and pickled okra.
